150 brand-new recipes, party ideas and menus, killer playlists, and inventive beauty projects from How Sweet Eats blogger Jessica Merchant . Jessica Merchant is like your most reliable girlfriend—that is, if your girlfriend was a passionate cook and serious beauty junkie. With her second book, she brings her signature playfulness to the page. It’s filled with 150 brand-new recipes, along with themed menus, party ideas, killer playlists, and inventive beauty projects. She’s the extra hand guiding you in the kitchen giving you the most inventive pizza toppings (crispy kale and summer corn), showing you how to make hibiscus blueberry mint juleps, and telling you the coolest way to make an avocado face mask while you plan your weekly menu on Saturday morning. All her recipes are deliciously indulgent (think: poke tacos, toasted quinoa chocolate bark, pistachio iced latte) and all take 60 minutes or less to make. Review: You go-to cookbook. - I've never owned a cookbook that is so beautiful and yet so accessible. As a general rule, I don't keep cookbooks right out on my countertops. I have a small selection on a shelf that I do pull out on occasion but don't cook with regularly. The Pretty Dish is the exception to this rule. I have it right out on my counter and refer to it every few days. I've been following Jessica's blog since 2011 and think extremely highly of her recipes and photography. Jessica takes her culinary, food styling, and photography skills to a whole new level with The Pretty Dish. You won't even know where to start because there are so many recipes you'll want to make immediately. Jessica comes up with truly unique recipe concepts that are simple to make and taste amazing. In the first few weeks of owning the cookbook, I've already made the butternut squash queso, carrot coconut soup, sesame Ramen noodles, blueberry-peach cobbler bars, and chocolate crinkle sprinkle cookies, all of which have been so delicious. I plan to make at least another half dozen recipes over the next couple of months. If you've been following Jessica's blog How Sweet Eats for any length of time, you know how genuine and personable she is in each and every post she writes. It's not surprising that her same passionate, candid nature is there on every page of The Pretty Dish. With an active FB group for The Pretty Dish, which Jessica herself participates in daily, you truly feel like you're cooking right alongside her and her many followers. I look forward to being part of this group for many months to come. Review: Delicious recipes with gorgeous pictures! - As a long time follower of Jessica's amazing blog "HowSweetEats", I found The Pretty Dish to be a gathering of so many wonderful things, from recipes to pictures to beauty tips. The recipes are innovative and bring together ingredients in a new and spectacular way. I've always liked to cook, but thought I pretty much had made everything out there - until the Pretty Dish came along - who knew food could taste so good!! The Butternut Squash Queso is delicious and I don't think there is a better recipe for cornbread than Herbed Feta Cornbread. "Hot Pink Hummus" and "Rosé Ice Cubes" will have a regular spots at happy hour this summer! As an added bonus, the DIY beauty recipes like Lemon Vanilla Cake Lip Scrub give you something to put together while the Blueberry Peach Cobbler Bars are cooking! Jessica's engaging spirit and warm heart resonate throughout - I feel lucky to share in her gifts through the blog and The Pretty Dish. I am a huge fan and can't wait to see what's next!!!!

but Jessica completely outdid herself with The Pretty Dish. It is SUCH an incredible book
I've been a reader and HUGE fan of Jessica and her blog from the very beginning. Needless to say, I was on pins and needles waiting to get this book since she announced it! Especially after being such a lover of Jessica's first cookbook, Seriously Delish. I read both cookbooks cover to cover the day I received each of them, and dog-eared nearly every page. I didn't think it was possible for her to "up her game", but Jessica completely outdid herself with The Pretty Dish. It is SUCH an incredible book, with such creative recipes, and absolutely stunning photography. Jessica's fun personality is woven through every recipe in the book, and she also shares a few of her favorite playlists, 50 beauty DIYs (!!), and ideas for themed dinner parties! All of the recipes can be made in 60 minutes or less, which is amazing for someone like me who is constantly busy, but wants imaginative and delicious meals all the time. I can't say enough good things about this book, and it will constantly have a home on my kitchen counter. And I am certain you'll feel the same!

Just buy it. Dooooooo it.
This book was so worth the wait when I pre-ordered it. Jessica’s recipes are creative and delicious. There’s so many flavor combinations that I would have never thought of myself and yet none are so far out there that it wouldn’t appeal to most. There’s lighter fare as well as decadent dishes (lobster burrata anyone?). The recipes are fairly simple and easy to execute without a million steps or obscure ingredients. Her cocktails are to die for and her party planning menus are AMAZING. The beauty recipes are such a nice bonus. I’ve tried making a couple scrubs are both lived up to the descriptions. The way Jessica writes is relatable. I feel like I’m recipe swapping with one of my best girlfriends. Do you yourself a favor and buy The Pretty Dish! It’s become my favorite cookbook and go to recipe collection.

Obsessed
This book has such amazing recipes! I don’t think there’s one thing in here I wouldn’t want to make! Jessica is so talented, genuine, funny, and relatable. Her recipes are truly hers... once you become more familiar with her style you’ll see that she is somehow able to add her own personal unique style to anything she makes. All her recipes are super easy to follow and easy to modify based on your own likes and dislikes. I recently started following her more on social media and joined the “book club” for this cookbook on Facebook which has an amazing, supportive group of people that you can ask for advice on recipes! One of my favorite things about this book is that she includes a chapter on “diy food bars” like overnight oats, s’mores, etc. I also love the end of the book where there are recipes for face masks, lip scrubs, body scrubs, and more. I didn’t know it was possible to actually be so obsessed with a cookbook!!! It’s great to know that others are just as obsessed with this cookbook too!

Teeny tiny font…
I need reading glasses - mine are a 2.5. With them I can normally read anything put in front of me…..except the measurements in these recipes!! I literally need a magnifying app or need to take a photo and enlarge it to see the measurements. The 1/3 could be just about anything to me! I’ve never had a problem like this with a cookbook - or any type of book - before. I’ve marked a few recipes I want to make - in my opinion that is a win for a cookbook! Even adding one new recipe to my stash that my family and I love is well worth the price of the cookbook:)

A Must Have!
Where do I start? The pictures are awe-inspiring. Jessica's writing style makes you feels like you're hearing from a friend, and the recipes are so incredibly brilliant and mouthwatering (Helloooo, Blackened BBQ Salmon, Chocolate Crinkle Sprinkle Cookies and Roasted Corn and White Chicken Chili!) Every single recipe is so beautifully crafted, comes together quickly and tastes amazing (and this is coming from someone who cooks for a family of very picky eaters). I've been following Jessica's blog How Sweet Eats for nearly eight years now and EVERY single recipe I've ever tried has been a home run. In fact, a lot of her recipes have become part of our family traditions. Do yourself, your family, and your friends a favor and order The Pretty Dish. Seriously, get it. You won't regret it!

Buy this NOW!
I have both of Jessica's cookbooks and love them both!! Her recipes are so approachable and the pictures are FANTASTIC! I like to see what a dish will look like when I'm finished, so the photos are an important part of any cookbook I purchase. But more than that, Jessica is approachable. She has a Facebook group for the cookbook, answers questions people have about recipe substitutions and sometimes has giveaways! She's amazing. I actually had the pleasure of meeting her at a book signing for her first book: Seriously Delish. I wanted to sit down and hang with her. She's so friendly and you can tell immediately that she loves what she does! And she appreciates her fans. Her blog is daily reading for me. But forget all that...just buy the book. It will never be put on your shelf because you will constantly be cooking from it. On a side note: my daughter and I used one of the beauty recipes (an oatmeal sugar scrub) to give away at a bridal shower. It was a huge hit!!

Recetas simples... DEMASIADO simples.

and I love her amazing style and her approachable recipes
I am obsessed with this book. And Jessica. And Howsweeteats. I'm a long-time follower of Jessica's blog, and I love her amazing style and her approachable recipes. I ended up with TWO copies of this book, because I pre-ordered it as soon as it was listed, and my mum pre-ordered it for me, hoping it would be a surprise Easter gift - BOTH books arrived on the same day!! The recipes in this book are incredible. Whether you've been following the author for a long time, or are just taking a browse through this book (which, like, get your butt over to howsweeteats.com ASAP), Jessica's awesome voice will guide you through these recipes with ease. There's lots in here for everyone - whether you've got a sweet tooth, want to incorporate more veggies, or want to wow all your friends (and I swear, you really will), this book can do it all, and more.

Must Have Cookbook!
I am a HUGE fan of this cookbook. I have been a follower of Jessica’s blog for years, and own her first cookbook as well. I have slowly been making my way through this cookbook and have loved all 15+ recipes I have made so far. I especially love that The Pretty Dish includes beauty and cocktail recipes. The Coconut Carrot soup, Korean beef, Blueberry Biscuits and Red Curry are some of my favorites and have already been made on repeat in my house. This cookbook is a must!

So many easy and quick recipes and all the photos are gorgeous
So many easy and quick recipes and all the photos are gorgeous! I’ve loved everything I’ve made so far! I also like how a lot of the recipes make 2 servings. It’s perfect if there’s only two of you and easy to double for more people.
