The sound absorber work very well. I had to mod them slightly in order to fit into the 4" waste pipes that had been used for the vent holes. I did that by fully wrapping the sound absorbers with 50mm wide Armaflex self sticking foam tape.Initially I did wrap only one of the sound absorbers and left the other one slack. So I found out, that not wrapping the sound absorber does lead to a poor performance, if the internal diameter of the tube is wider than the outer diameter of the sound absorber. In 100mm ventilation duct tubes the wrapping would not be required.The permanent noise from the stream outside has reduced dramatically. Entering the kitchen the first few days felt like coming into a void spot, as if something was missing.Although please take into consideration that the noise reduction does not happen magically. If you expect your fan to be less audible and the fan is fitted on the inside then the noise reduction would be on the outside only.

Having had an air vent causing noise issues, but covering it only causing damp issues, this was a life safer. Though the noise isn’t fully dampened, it’s made a huge impact, and option to remove and add segments again makes it versatile enough to make a difference. The soft sponge makes its installation easy

Gave this a try and was very impressed on how well it worked, the road we live next to can be busy in the morning and evening and this works a treat at cutting the noise down to a minimum.

I think it works on reducing the noise in the room, a difference is noticeable. However I noticed that there’s water on the windows in the morning, so the room doesn’t get the same ventilation as before, so if you already have an issue with condensation, I wouldn’t recommend.

Exactly what I needed. With no front garden the noise was very loud coming through the vent from kids and cars passing. After installing this I can no longer hear the noise coming through.

Put it into my stove vent at the back of my chimney and it’s made a huge difference to the noise levels from outside. Well worth it

Unfortunately this product is useless. It does not reduce the noise. Waste of money. Not worth it.

We installed these as we're living in a coastal area that gets quite a lot of wind and there is also a road adjacent to our house. The draught doesn't seem as noticeable, however I don't see any change the to level of sound coming in through the vents

This has greatly reduced the sound coming into my bathroom. It was very easy to install, so long as you're comfortable getting on your roof. Airflow has been slightly impacted; the static pressure was increased as a result so my fan sounds slightly louder. I actually found this to be a good thing; my dog is terrified of fireworks and my bathroom is now the best place for him to hide when fireworks are going thanks to these and the increased fan sound. I think most people would think that's a negative but it works for me! You can easily add more than one to increase the sound dampening ability of the silencers, but that will increase the static pressure and fan noise. Just a word of warning
