Not sure what I was expecting but at $8.50 each I got what I payed for. I’ll start off by saying that they work as a lighter with about a 2” torch like flame. This is definitely enough of a flame to light your cigar or your fireworks or anything else that is flammable. Between the bad Chinese/English print on the box and the Amazon description, I was able to figure out how it worked as the directions were woefully inadequate. To adjust the flame size there is a plastic ring around the gas input valve that needs to be pulled out and turned. The lock on the side can only be moved to the lock position once the torch is lit which will keep it burning after you release the ignition button. Once you release the lock switch or the ignition button (when not locked), the torch slowly shuts down in about 3 seconds unlike most lighters that stop immediately. If you accidently drop this torch while lit, it could easily catch something on fire that is unintended. The pictures on Amazon make theses torches look very fancy which is a little misleading. While they are indeed made of metal, it is very cheap looking plated pot metal. I don’t smoke cigars or anything else but if I did, I’d want to get a nicer lighter than this. Like I said, I got what I payed for.
