Fantastic text
Just a perfect textbook for classic Roman civilization and the daily lives of its citizens.

Maybe the best reading material to know what Rome was like
This is translated dedications, menus, graffiti and other items written by Romans at the time so the closest we can get, other than individual Roman authors works, to written material describing and implying what life was actually like. An excellent book and well worth reading if you want to understand ancient Rome.

An excellent, quick and informative read!
This is an excellent read! The author writes in a very clear manner, painting a descriptive picture of Roman life without the reader needing lots of prior knowledge. Using actual Roman inscriptions, writings and even graffiti combined with the author's profound grasp of ancient Roman history, you can get an idea of what it was like to live in these times. I can imagine this would be an excellent addition to a course, but it's a great read for anyone looking for insight into the life of ancient Romans. I highly recommend!

Opened this book 3 times and now the pages are starting to fall out. Very poor construction.
