The Friedman Archives Guide to Sonys A7R III

A very detailed, well written technical book about the Sony a7RIII
Thos book is exacly what I was loo,ing for. I've just moved from Canon after 7 years and is well known that the complexity/ organization off all settings of Sony cameras can be quite overwhelming. This book definitely will help to learn and configure absolutely every setting on this camera. Firedman also share his personal settings and custom menus, which is a very good start point to someone that is new to Sony. Some parts of the book does seems that came from other, however that is perfectly acceptable as the different Sony camera models shares a lot of features. The book is well organized and well written, easy to understand and you don't really need to read the whole thing (although I would recommend, as I quite enjoyed doing so), you can look for the setting you looking for specifically, and if that particular setting is linked with another one, it will have a hiperlink in the text.I recommend to anyone that have the Sony A7RIII, but specially for those that came from other brands.

Explains The Camera and Its Features - In Depth
Purchased the A7R III. Nice camera with loads of features. I bought Gary's book because I had previously purchased books for some other Sony cameras that I owned. I do not think anyone else knows Sony cameras like Gary. His book is packed with information and is a a great reference for the camera.

Great!
While I'm not a novice (about 20 years experience), having this camera guide sure helped me understand the little intricacies of the a7r3. I have also read the author's a6300 guide when it came out and this guide covers everything just as well. Very happy with the Friedman's books.

Good reference volume to have handy
Friedman breaks down the almost infinite camera settings into an easy to understand camera guide. There are quite a few tips and hints I was not aware of that enhanced my knowledge of this powerful camera.

Great info .... but when do we get the A7R IV version?
This is a great intro to the Sony eco-system for a Canon shooter who's migrated after shooting on that platform for 20 years. The A7R IV is what triggered me switch systems but sadly there are no books available for it yet. Sony's user manual isn't as terrible as I thought it would be ... but its still more just a technical reference. Although this Friedman Archives Guide is obviously focusing on the previous model - much of what's said seems transferable across to the A7R IV model although you'll need to resort to Google searches and other references to pick the minor specification and menu changes between the III and IV.Having had the camera only two days, and with the change between eco-systems, I'm still trying to figure a lot out - but having this book is a big help which is helping me feel more comfortable about the transition. I look forward to learning a lot more and getting the best out of my new camera. The book is well written, detailed, and easy to follow. Besides on the technical stuff about controls and features it has advice on the setup (what do I do with all those buttons and menu options?) and how to shoot.

Becareful of reviews published before this book was even published.
I have two of Friedman's books on Sony mirrorless cameras including this one and I find them to be the most useful of "how-to" camera books that I have used over my thirty years of photography. Very detail oriented, the coverage of every function of these complex cameras is explained and illustrated. I have to wonder about a review here that complains about the book being too generalized and appears to have been posted all most a year before the A7Riii book was published.

All the things you need to know on the Sony A7R III
I bought the Sony A7RII book from Friedman and it helped me greatly, this book on the A7RIII is a 'must have' as it expands and covers many aspects about the camera that are not obvious or even noted in the Sony manuals. Added to which it explains all the functions and gives opinion on how and where they will or will not be of use. It is highly technical, but so is the camera, even being conversant with the A7RII I found I had to reread and experiment. My knowledge is much better for reading and referring to this book/manual.

Super
Duidelijke, heldere uitleg.
