What size blade for a yorkie Aussie mix with thick under coat?

It's my understanding and I have used the 4, 5, 10 blades on my cocker-poo and poodle. The 10 should be used in areas where you want the coat really short, to the skin almost. I use the 10 on my dogs to groom their paws, in between their nails and on the face and tail, otherwise, I use the 4 & 5 on their coat, where it gets the hair short but leaves a little hair there, thus not removing all. It depends how short you want the hair and my one Cocker-poo who has thick matte's at times on her underside.... I would recommend using the 4 or 5 blade. You will either have to comb the mat's out or trim first with scissors, otherwise the blade will get caught in the hair and won't cut like you would like. FYI the higher the number on the blade equates to a shorter cut. Hope this helps.

Cut like butter

I have an English Springer and wanted to shave her to help keep her clean when plays in the woods. I had an old set of Andis clippers and they would not cut her fur. I got these and shaved her in 30 minutes. They didn't hot like the old blades and they cut smooth as fast as you want to cut. Super impressed.
