Large Sushi Maker (Pack of 2)

While living on the West coast, I would frequent L & L Hawaiian BBQ and would always grab their Teriyaki Beef lunch plate with two scoops of macaroni salad. But on occasion I would shake things up by ordering some Spam musubi. Well, I've since moved to the East coast and longed for some good ol' L & L. Since there are no locations anywhere near me, I've been forced to improvise. So after looking at several YouTube videos, I settled on this appliance to solve my cravings for some Spam musubi.Shipping was EXTREMELY fast and while the press didn't arrive in the black Takamura Co. box shown, it did arrive in a sturdy shipping box. The construction is quality; no scratches or chipped edges. The corners of the press are mitered and the width just fits a piece of Spam perfectly. I'd recommend this larger press so you can make two musubi at a time and save on the extra work required if you had a singular press. Plus you have the option of using it to make sushi long rolls. Can't beat that. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

I bought two of these when my small one just wasn't making enough masubi fast enough!So a couple of surprises:1. These are not as TALL as my short ones.Which means you can't stack as much material HIGH UP. But you know, it didn't bother me nearly as much as I thought. You just eat more masubi. =)2. Not machine washableHow is ANYTHING not dish-washer approved these days? But apparently the acrylic will melt if you put them in the washer, so don't do it!Otherwise, I'm very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it to any family who eats lots of masubi like we do!!!

Works pretty good, but I did find that it was hard to keep the pieces from falling apart when eating them. We did't wrap it in nori like you would a roll, so after cutting the whole piece into smaller pieces, it was kinda like a sandwich with no mayo to hold the bread on. All in all, I like it and it gives us another option. We eat sushi all the time and we like to change it up sometimes.

This is the perfect musubi maker. I love that it's long enough to fit the whole sheet of nori. It makes it easy to make musubi without having to cut the nori first. It works as it should and you just have to wet it to help prevent the rice from sticking to it. Marukai also sells this though so if you have one by you and are a member then it would be cheaper getting it there.

This sushi press is a very nice quality. Overall, it makes compressing the rice, and added elements very simple opposed to the traditional bamboo sushi wrap. I put my rice and my vegetables lined up inside, and then SQUISH! It pops out wonderfully, and was able to eat it without the rice spilling all over the place, and it is also machine washer friendly and easy to clean by hand! Would definitely recommend for a beginner who wants to make a quick roll in a few steps!

The musubi press was just what I expected. It arrived quickly. Unfortunately it broke the first time I used it but when I contacted Lucca they promptly sent me a replacement. The replacement works perfectly and I am very happy with it. I really like the large size because I can use full sheets of nori and don't have to cut them in half. I can crank out spam musubi like a professional now!

This product came exactly as it was marketed. It is very easy to use, and my spam musubi came out perfectly. It is overpriced compared to the musubi maker I was able to purchase in Japantown in San Francisco, but it does what it is supposed to.

I bought this sushi maker because of the clean lines, easy to clean. The small, fancy triangles and bamboo rolls get gross after just a few uses. They are hard to clean as rice starch gets into the nooks and crannies and yuk! This one is easily cleaned, you can see the interior in case you are short on rice, etc. Good product.
