Rear of cushion aprox 4 inches, front of cushion approx 2 inches center of cushion is approx 3 inches.

Is there a zipper to be able to remove the cover to wash?

No zipper but I am sure you could wipe down the outside just like your car seat. This cushion is perfect for me. Added height

Is there a weight limit for optimal function?

The cushion is thick and very comfortable. I don't think there is a weight limit as it is very durably made.
