Non-Programmable Heat Pump Thermostat for House 2 Heat/1 Cool, with Temperature & Humidity Monitor and Large Green LCD

This is a very nice, and functional, thermostat. No battery backup is fine for me, as I can see my air handler is down if it's not working. The most important thing to remember when replacing any thermostat, is to turn off all the power to the unit from where the power is coming from, that powers the thermostat. On Heat pumps, this would the power to the air handler indoors. If you fail to turn the power off, you will short out the 24-26 volt transformer that provides power to control your units. While the transformer is relatively inexpensive, and easily replaced, most folks will end up calling in a repairman to get their system back in operating order. Depending on how they feel that day, and how slow business is for them, your repair could cost between $250 to $17,000 if they decide to tell you that your system is old, and needs to be replaced.

Had to buy a new thermostat as our old one would not light up enough for me to read without searching for a pair of glasses. This one is very bright with big numbers and I love the fact that it gives you a humidity reading. Only reason for 4 stars is because of the clicking sound when adjusting the temp up or down. Not a major issue though. Would have still purchased even with knowing this. So nice being able to read or adjust without having to put glasses on.

Easy assembly directions wasn’t that great but still easy to do on and off in about five minutes Not a bad price

This is just what I wanted , nothing fancy , just set it and forget it ! Non programmable is perfect for me and that means ,nothing extra to go wrong . I had my AC / heat guy install it for me ..But I’m a senior and just didn’t want to mess with the wiring. I’m sure most folks could do it themselves . Now, I’ve only had it a few days , but all is well . Actually, even though I’m in Fl. I’ve only used the heat , so far . The display is large and clear , with a green background . It not only shows the temp. but also the humidity . The price was excellent and hopefully this thermostat will last a long time !! If you want something simple and are watching your budget , I highly recommend !!

So far the thermostat has worked perfectly. My utility bill has not fluctuated since the installation and is much lower than last year with basically same temperatures

You must get an HVAC electrician to install. Too complicated! I had a regular electrician friend try to install it but it was too complicated. Then I had a friend of a friend install it because he’s an HVAC Technician. He was able to do it but mentioned that it’s quite unusual. Works great so that’s why I gave it a 3!
