Massive Norway rat infestation...
I typically do not do reviews, however have been so pleased with how these worked, I wanted to spread the word on how well these perform. Recently, we have seen a major increase in Norway rats. We live next to a pasture that is now under development in a large metropolitan area. We could not go out in our backyard without having our dogs a leashes, because there were so many rats in the backyard. We called an exterminator and had 4 bait boxes set outside as well as 2 in our attic. He told me it would take a while to start seeing a difference, as the rats had to eat the bait, then feed the babies, but this should work and the bait should last 6 months. Of course, this wasn't a quick enough resolution for me. I raise show dogs, and don't need diseases, fleas, etc, spread by the rats. I searched for more answers and found several websites stating when the infestation is bad, multiple repellents need to be used. I researched the ultrasonic repellers, and really liked what I saw with the T3-R. I ordered 2 of them at the end of the week, one for our patio area, and one for the pool equipment/storage building area and they arrived that Saturday. The directions were very easy to understand, and I had them set up in just a few minutes. I had read reviews that stated the frequencies didn't hurt the dogs ears, and for my older dogs, it did not...I have a young male, and he whimpered a little for a few days when I would let them out back, so I would turn them off when he was outside. Within a week, he became accustomed to the sound, and we no longer have to turn them off. The Friday before we received these units, I had the exterminator back out to check the bait traps, and ALL 4 OF THE OUTSIDE BAIT TRAPS WERE STRIPPED TOTALLY CLEAN!!!!!! These are the large outdoor bait stations that you see outside restaurants and hold 3 bait "logs." The exterminator stated he had NEVER seen the traps cleaned out so thoroughly that quickly, and he confirmed that they had only been out 2 weeks. He refilled the stations, and said he was interested in finding out if these worked, and asked me to call his personal cell phone if they did. I've got to call him and let him know we are thoroughly pleased with the results we have seen since we added these. The exterminator left a key to the bait stations so we could check them ourselves, and it has been a month now, and the bait has not been touched! I would say within 3-4 days, we stopped seeing evidence of the rats in the back yard, and the dogs lost interest in hunting the varmits. We also had a couple of storms that dumped 7-8 inches of rain within a 12 hour period, and as long as these units are not sitting in puddles of water and have some sort of overhang to block some of the water, these units have continued operating perfectly. Because of my strong desire and aversion to the rats, I had emailed the seller 2-3 times, and I have to say the customer service has been excellent! I am planning on ordering 2 more so I can have complete coverage around the entire exterior of my home. This area is seeing a lot of building and development, and I'd rather the rodents go somewhere else. From speaking to our neighbors, there have been rat issues in our neighborhood for the last 30 years...obviously, we weren't told this when we bought the house...so it's all out war on these 4 legged Devils! Thank you for giving me back our backyard! These have done everything they were stated to do!

Our MIRACLE cure!!!!! Ratatouille to Home Alone in two days.
Brilliant. We had mice taking over our home, with new home construction in a large area behind our house, mice were setting up residence in our garage, leaving droppings and shredded paper bits at first in corners and hidden spots which disturbed me to no end when I would come across them. After a time, they started moving into the utility room upon occasion. Then they got into my car, leaving their mark on my seats and console, and I started parking outside the garage, even in the winter. But then they moved into the family room (after the boys would leave food out), finally I was at my wits end when I was finding random droppings in the hallway, on laundry piles, and the very worst, on top of my son's pillow and sheets one day. My husband had been going after them intermittently with mouse traps, which always yielded results, but couldn't get to the root of the problem, and was doing nothing to get them out of the house, much less the garage. I was looking up exterminators, and moving my son into a different bedroom (he refused to go into his bedroom again after the pillow incident) when I found a review for this device. I read more and more on sonic devices, but ultimately came back to the T3-R as far and away the highest rated with most dramatic testimonials. I purchased 3 and prayed it wasn't a scam. I put one device as instructed in the family room (where most of the in house activity was), one in our utility room, and one in the four car garage, where I thought the nesting was likely happening. I bought a dozen mouse traps and had my husband cover the area. The first night we got 4, which was pretty typical. I knew from reading that it could take up to a week to notice a difference, so I wasnt freaked out. The second night, one mouse, in my son's old abandoned bedroom. I was nervous about that one. But that was the last mouse we've seen or heard for almost 2 months. No more droppings, gone. I mean they are gone. It's a bloody miracle!!! These little things have given my back my home! They would've been worth every penny at ten times the price. We've just left the devices where they are since theyre doing the job so well. They are smaller than most computer speakers, make only the slightest clicking noise when you listen and they put my mind at ease. (No, the dog doesnt hear a thing). We have a 3000 sq ft home and I think we couldve easily gotten away with two units- one for house and one for garage; they are that powerful. There are different modes to try and instructions and a customer service number (from this vendor anyway) if you don't have success right away. I guess they help you figure out the best placement of the unit and the best mode to try. We got lucky and just put them on the floor facing out and used the first recommended mode. If you have the slightest hesitation about this thing working, and you are dealing with mice in your home, get over it, push the "add to cart" button and start making your life better NOW.

It's painfully LOUD, repels humans
Unfortunately, we had high hopes for this for pest control on the lower level of our home. It came with several sheets of paperwork asking to directly contact the seller for advanced pest control needs rather than leaving a bad review. That should have set off alarm bells (though I wouldn't be able to hear them anyway over the noise this thing makes). We turned on the duo setting, which is the recommended setting for our needs. Our dog is the only family member who seems not to hear it but she eats dryer sheets and human hair as snack food, so I'm not putting a lot of trust in her reaction to the unit. It makes such high pitched piercing sounds (along with a much more "PLEASANT," grating, nonstop clicking) that it actually makes our ears hurt. We can't tell if it's working because we can't be on the same floor of our house with it when it's on and since we've only had it for about 5 days we wanted to keep track of pest activity compared to before and after using this thing. My mom gave up her bedroom and is sleeping on the couch upstairs waiting out the recommended "16-day mark" for pest control. My 11-year-old literally peed off the porch last night rather than use the downstairs bathroom while the upstairs one was occupied because this thing is so obnoxious. The only pest control we can tell it achieves is making the area where it's used so inhospitable to humans that you don't know if you still have pests or not. I wish I could leave a better review, because the seller seems genuinely interested in making sure the unit works well, based on these four pages of paperwork asking you to contact them for a "second step solution," which also makes me wonder why they don't offer that in the first place rather than this product. Also, unrelated to the sounds the unit makes, it has a really short cord (I feel like the description said it comes with a 6 foot cord?) so unless you're planning to run an extension cord to where you're using it, plan on keeping it within a couple of feet of a power outlet. On the plus side, it seems easy to use, but since it causes actual ear pain to be on the same floor of the house because of the sounds the unit makes, we're returning it ASAP.

So Far, So Good!
7/26/16 Review I received my T3-R mice repeller approximately 5 days ago and set it up immediately as I have had some creature living inside my mattress (talk about months of awful sleep - being awakened by something gnawing and bumping around underneath you). I tried everything from power cleaning, mothballs (almost poisoned myself), snap traps, poison, and peppermint oil - all with minimal effect. I took all of the plastic under bed shoe storage boxes out and placed the unit under my bed on the hardwood floor. I have no bed skirt so the sound travels all across the room and seems to have drastically reduced the visits from my non-rent paying roommates. Pros: * Small unit (approximately 4 inches high, 5 inches in diameter) and it's corded so you're not stuck with the location of your wall plug which may be obstructed by furniture. This was a huge selling point for me because you really want to get the unit in an area where the sound waves are not blocked by anything. * Effectiveness. I still have occasional visits from the creature(s) but they have decreased significantly since getting this unit. The instructions say to give it 12-16 days for maximum effectiveness and I'm only on day 5 but if this is any indication of what's to come then I expect my room will be a peaceful retreat once again in the very near future. * Customer Service. I received very detailed instructions from the seller with email and phone numbers where I can contact him directly should there be any problems with my unit. This seller genuinely cares about his customers' satisfaction and from previous reviews I could see that he stood behind his products and would go above and beyond to make sure my pest problem was solved to my satisfaction. I've had no problems so far but it's comforting to know that others who have contacted him have had their issues addressed in a prompt and satisfactory manner. Cons: * Price. Yes, this is one of the pricier units and I hesitated before purchasing it knowing I could get sonic repellents at Home Depot for less than half the price of this one. However, the fact that this unit is corded makes a HUGE difference to me since I understand how sound waves travel from working at a company that produces sound mitigation products. The fact that the unit can be directly on my hardwood floor means the sound waves travel unobstructed on the ground which is where rodents generally travel. units that plug directly into the wall sit about 12-18 inches off the floor and are often blocked by beds, chairs, etc. soft surfaces absorb sound waves which is not what you want for maximum efficiency. * Sound. Yes, I can hear the unit. I have very good hearing, especially in higher frequencies. I can hear fluorescent light bulbs and other things that most people don't notice. I also have misophonia which means that some sounds literally make me feel like I'm going crazy. To me, the occasional sounds I hear sound like when you don't have your soda bottle cap screwed on all the way and the pressure from the carbonation is escaping occasionally from the leak. The first day or so I kept looking to see if I had a drink in the room that I needed to tighten the lid on. I was worried it was going to bother me but since the sound is emitted irregularly (and this is good for rodent repelling) my mind can't make a pattern out of it and it eventually has begun to fade into the background noise. This was possibly my biggest concern about the unit and I've been pleasantly surprised to find that it's really not that big of a deal. I do hear it, but it doesn't bother me that much - as in less than dripping faucets or ticking clocks or fluorescent bulbs. Certainly a fair trade off for the peace of mind that the creature is moving out of my space Will update after a couple of weeks and may upgrade to 5 stars but for now it's a solid 4 of 5 and I would advise someone to purchase this product from this seller.

It Works!
It is week 3 since I purchased T3R. I am still happy with the results and I hope they continue. We live in a top floor condo in FL. The attic is a space above all units of the building. I can't speak for other condos and apartments, but for the past year, all critters seemed to have parties and baseball practice on our end of the building above my apartment. I purchased Riddex and plugged it to a few outlets in the condo, we didn't notice much of a difference in the attic noise. After complaining to the HOA for several months, they hired an exterminator service and paid ~$2,400. That company put a few traps and to my knowledge caught nothing so far. The noise over our heads did not stop day and night for over a year. I can't explain how creepy it is to sleep with creatures moving over your bed every night, loud noises and bangs coming from ceiling, vents and shafts. As a final attempt, I searched on Amazon and came across the T3R. We have a dog and I was worried the emissions may impact it but my dog acts like nothing is going on so I am no longer worried about her. Per instructions, 3 weeks ago I installed the unit in the attic, directly over my bedroom where lots of the noises were coming from. I run a cord since there is no power in the attic. Within the first hour, I heard a huge movement over our heads throughout our condo. It is the first time we actually understood how many creatures there were above us, I got a sense of at least 20 or so animals moving about. I started a journal so I reflected every day on the scale of the noises that I was hearing and within the first week, the noises were not eliminated but had reduced significantly. About day 11, I happily noticed zero noise in the attic throughout the day. That was the first night also in over a year where there were no noises during the night! First night of good sleep, finally! 3 weeks into this, we do hear occasional noise. I imagine new critters come by but after hanging around for a little bit, they leave due to the T3R. I think that's the best we can hope for. The attic is too large and no one knows where the animals come from so repairing the holes doesn't seem likely. I can't express how thankful I am to have come across T3R and that it actually works and forces the critters to run away from the area above my condo. The customer support is wonderful and they told me the unit would run for about 6 years and uses about 20W of power which is much less than a light bulb. Frankly, even if it was using electricity like an electric car, I would still keep it and run it year long, it is that worth it to me! Buy this for the attic, it WORKS!

Keeps some squirrels off my roof, but not all
I am re-writing this review after 1 year. 3/25/15: I was having a serious problem with squirrels and this was moderately helpful. But my situation may be a little unique. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. My house has a tiled roof. Apparently because they are rodents and need to wear down their teeth, the squirrels love to go underneath my tiles and gnaw on my roof. I cannot see them because they are under the tiles, but given the time of day this happens (daytime) there is no other possible cause (I also have a problem with roof rats but they are nocturnal). I had to do about $5,000 worth of repairs to my roof 18 months ago because of the damage these guys have done over the years (not to mention a leak they caused). I was not looking forward to spending more money this way. The squirrels were coming to my house on a daily basis and gnawing away for hours at a time. I bought two of these devices and installed the second one about a month ago. I was concerned if this would provide enough coverage for my ~2000 sqft house and if the sound would annoy/repel the squirrels since the squirrels were on top of my roof and the repellers were in my attic. Initially there was big difference. In the first week or so the squirrels came back and did some gnawing for a few minutes and then went away. For the last two-three weeks I have heard nothing. I am very happy. 4/29/15 Update: 2 months after deploying two of these devices in my attic, my roof is still squirrel-free. FIVE STARS! I am leaving these on 24/7. The support folks at the manufacturer indicated that turning them off during the evening would not extend their life, and I should expect these to last 5-6 years. Given the damage these critters were doing to my roof this is definitely worth it. 2/24/16 There appear to be some squirrels who are no affected by these devices. I put two of them under the roof, which were about 2 feet away from where the squirrel was gnawing away and he kept coming back daily. And there appear to be one or two other squirrels who are also not bothered by these devices. So I am going to call a pest guy who specialized in squirrel-proofing tile roofs. There apparently are some gaps in the tiles that can be closed. The alternative is a new roof which seems a little extreme.

Customer Service Second to None!!!!
Over the past 6 months, we have had 2 "rodent" attacks on our Dodge Caravan. Both required the vehicle be towed and to have very expensive and time consuming repairs. We are certain these were squirrels and/or chipmunks as we could see them under the van all during the day but had no way to permanently repel them. The first time they ate the wiring and the second time, the power steering and coolant hoses. Needless to say, this is dangerous as well as expensive. Once I saw this device, I wrote to the vendor, Dan, to tell him our problem and ask his advice. He has been the most helpful, the most generous, and the most reliable seller I have ever worked with. While we haven't had the T3-R long enough to be certain it will permanently solve our problem, initial tests have been promising. We have not seen any squirrels or chipmunks near the van since we hooked it up a little over a week ago. We have actually placed it under the van, (though Dan says that is probably not necessary and just focusing it on the van should work), using an extension cord from the garage and placing it in one of those clear plastic thingies meant for using as drip trays on flower pots. Though this extra protection may not be necessary since the T3-R is weather resistant, the drip tray is to keep water from pouring down the driveway and actually entering the device when it rains. You seriously cannot go wrong with this seller. He guarantees to give you your money back, no questions asked, for 1 year and somehow we received this item in one day from Arizona to Alabama, even though I ordered it late in the day. So even if it doesn't work for you, you won't lose anything by giving it a try. If all vendors gave the level of customer service that Dan does, the world of commerce would be a lovely place indeed! UPDATE: OK - it has been over 6 weeks and it is still working perfectly. We have not seen any more squirrels or chipmunks near our vehicle. We used to see at least 1 or 2 every hour. I continue to keep the unit in a plastic drip tray which stays under the van while it is in the driveway. When we leave, if it is raining, I move it back by the garage while we are gone in the van but otherwise, I just leave it in place and when we return, we drive in over it when we come in the driveway so it is safely sheltered back under the vehicle. I feel confident now that I can recommend both the unit and the vendor without reservations. Thank you Dan for a great product and great service and a solution to a huge problem.

I have to revise my review upward
If you are considering a ultrasonic repeller, especially in indoor applications, look no further. The reason is not only because this unit is quite unique, but also because of the customer service experience. First of all, this unit is unusual because it has three separate ultrasonic emitters. Based on the shape of the unit, my guess is that they do a good job of covering over 180* around the unit with 135+ db blasts of ultrasonic energy that vary in frequency but whose main targets are rodents like mice, squirrels, and rats. There are multiple operating modes, allowing you to test the unit (it squeals in a audible frequency range) or determine which transducers get to operate. But more importantly, when something goes wrong, Dan H., the seller, is there to personally help you troubleshoot. When he read I had issues, he contacted me immediately to figure out what may have gone wrong. He was very kind, helpful, and exclusively focused on making sure I liked the product, or my money back. Ultimately, that's what happened, he refunded me the whole package (including shipping), which is very unusual but which illustrates how he stands behind his product. Why do business with other merchants for ultrasonic repellers when you can do business with Dan? Anyhow, I initially gave this product only three stars because based on observations of the back yard, it seemed to work on some, but not all target animals. That is, I set up the unit, confirmed with the test mode that all was well, and went on my merry way, hearing the squirrels chatting angrily behind me. The unit itself is nearly silent in operation - some aspect of the ultrasonic noise can be heard, but it is very, very minor and presumably consists of harmonics. But then the local skunk and a squirrel happily started grubbing in my yard - and at least the squirrel should not have! Since I was leaving town for a couple of days, I disconnected the unit and wrote my review. Then I started conversing with Dan by e-mail and discovered what a caring merchant he is. Several days later, I got home and started troubleshooting. The first thing I noticed was the lack of the faint noise the unit should be making when plugged in. I checked the power, then suspected a bad power supply. Luckily I had a Velleman 3-12Vdc Adjustable Power Supply on hand to see if the issue was inside the unit or if the power supply had failed. Once I got the voltage, polarity, and plug size right, the emitter started right up, confirming that the small OEM power supply had failed. Dan assured me this was very unusual and issued a full refund (including shipping!) and didn't even want the unit back. I then retested the unit outdoors with the new power supply, and once again the squirrels were on the run. I even convinced a skunk to vacate the lawn (which makes sense, its hearing range is similar to that of squirrels). While chasing pests out of your yard or house is possible with this unit, I would also focus on minimizing habitat / food sources for pests on your property rather than relying on devices like this. After all, you too may suffer a power supply failure just when you weren't looking. So, if you have an attic filled with squirrels, it's likely not good enough to set up a ultra-sonic repeller. Long term, you should also close and seal access holes. Who knows, some day you may encounter a old and deaf squirrel who won't mind the noise coming out of the replier! In closing, I would recommend this ultrasonic repeller over any other unit sold on Amazon. Failures like the power supply happen to any product - but what differentiates one merchant from another is how they handle the situation. The reason I'd buy this over a competing product is that dan stands behind his product!

very bad product.
I bought this and as soon as I switched on my dog started barking and became restless. I tried to position it in the garden, in the shed and my dog continued barking. Even when I pit it in the loft the same thing happened. I could not use it. I contacted the seller who was very unhelpful. I spent a lot og money and cannot use the item, which should have clearly stated on the box that dogs are sensitive to it. Be careful ! you will not get your money back as customer service is terrible. There are better erepellents and cheaper ones too.
