Good quality and taste
Bought it to make a Shanghai soup called Yanduxian. It does have some smell but I think that's how this kind of bamboo shoots should have. The soup turned out great and tested authentic. Much easier to but fresh bamboo shoots and clean them myself. Will buy again.

Very good
Delicious in stir fry meals. Not sure of the nutritional value but the taste was delicious

Read before you cook
I saw a lot of negative reviews complaining about the smell...this is what bamboo shoots supposed to smell like even with the fresh ones because they naturally contain uric acid! Before you cook them, you have to rinse them thoroughly for several times (I normally do 3-4 rinses) and then transfer them to a pot of boiling water, add 1 tsp of salt, cook it at medium heat for at least 15 minutes or until they're cooked/soften. You then take it off the stove, drain all the smelly water and rinse again. This process will remove the natural toxin and urine smell of the bamboo shoots. I've tried this brand and it's comparable to the ones sold at the local Asian food markets.

Very nice
Really nice. First time using this brand. Simply boiled them in hot water to get rid ofthe smell. Quality is top notch. Quantity in a box is quite big enough for 4-5 people IF used in a dish like Red curry for example. The shoots are NOT tubular in shape but slender flats. Each flat piece was about 2 fingers-size wide and 2 credit cards-size thick. Really liked it.

Canned bamboo shoots
These bamboo shoots are no better or worse than any canned bamboo shoots I've had. Once they are cooked into a stir fry or curry they tend to taste the same. Received on time undented.

Awful smell and taste.
I really wanted to like bamboo shoots because they are so healthy but when I opened the can the smell was horrible. The taste was even worse, like spoiled, just awful. I threw everything in the garbage can. I did not even wanted to donate them to a charity as people might think this is spoiled food. Maybe it is, maybe not. I do not know how these shoots are supposed to taste, this was my first try as I just recently did research about them and their health benefits.

Love these
Really feels like an authentic Asian stir fry, but I don’t use the whole can at once . Usually only a third of a can
