These are great gates. We got two of them for the top and bottom of our staircase. These are perfect for the top of stairs because there is no bar running across the walkway to trip you up.The construction is very solid. No child will be able to break this gate. The hinge end should be installed into a stud. If installed into drywall, I think a determined kid or someone carelessly putting weight on the open gate would pull it out of the wall.The self close feature is really handy. If you want it to stay open, open it a full 90 degrees. Any less than that and the gate will close on it's own. It makes a distinct sound when it latches, so you know it is closed without having to look back.I'm very happy with these gates, my only suggestion would be to put a raised ridge on the release button to make it easier to get a grip on.

I think its a great gate for my dog. I had zero issues installing it. The black finish on it makes it look really nice.

Amazingly sturdy, nice smooth welds, well finished and clever "no latch" hold-open when you want to carry stuff down the stairs. I chose to use BOTH their cool sticker for the hinge side AND verify the hole designations with the 4 ft level for absolute vertical. You stick it on the wall and drill pilot holes right through it. Use a 1/8 bit, EVEN if you end up enlarging the holes for wall anchors for best accuracy. Once the hinge side is up, you SLIDE the two sections wider to meet the latch side and position the latch pieces with the double sided tape. Open it wide, drill pilot holes and put in the screws and fiddle with the Allen screws in the two sections to get it to close perfectly, which mine did. Hint, do the top latch first, an lightly draw around it with a pencil, in case the double sided tape doesn't hold while you are drilling. It looks nice, work VERY smoothly, the installation "sticky templates" make it goof proof. I'd buy it again.

We have three of these gates in our house and absolutely love them. They work perfectly in both a narrow doorway and a wider space, fitting each area securely. In the spots where we attached it to drywall, we added a small piece of wood behind the gate for extra stability. In other areas where we drilled directly into wood, it already feels super solid.I really like that it swings both directions and has a smooth, easy-to-use latch that clicks into place so you know it’s locked. You can open it with one hand, which is a lifesaver when carrying a baby or laundry.Sharing a quick video so you can see how it swings both ways — overall, highly recommend!

We're using these gates for pets, not children, so I didn't bother to install the bottom of the two latch receivers/brackets. This makes installation easier and faster, and when you use the gate, you don't have to life it - you can just pull back on the latch and it swings open. If you have children you'll want both brackets for safety.This is a nice product at a good price. I like that its width is adjustable without installing "expansion" sections - you just slide it to width and four set-screws make that permanent. (Plastic connectors between expansion sections broke on our old gate, which is why we bought these.) I also like that it has a self-close feature, but if you open it all the way, it has a recess in the hinge that holds it open. That's nice.The only thing I don't like so far is the latch is RIGHT against the edge of the gate, where it latches to the wall. If you have big fingers it can be a little awkward activating it - other gates have a button or latch an inch or so from the edge, which is easier to operate. A minor detail but worth noting.

Love these gates. Have one outside for our pool deck and one inside to keep the dogs out of the kitchen.My only negative would be the include screws are cheap and 4 of them snapped when trying to install. I do not write reviews until I have used the product and can give my honest opinion. At first, this gate was great. The " auto-close" feature is not as it states but it is stays put and keeps our toddler from getting where she doesn't need to go. My husband was able to install it into the door frame without issue. Seemed very sturdy and well made. We bought this gate on May 20, 2025, and right around the 2-month mark of having it installed, one of the bars on the gate, at the bottom, came un-welded and broke. It absolutely threw off the entire stability of the gate, the locking mechanism, my toddler's safety is now a concern. This is NOT a cheap gate, and we are past the return window, so we had to make it work. My husband was able to duct tape it/glue it back together until we can find a better replacement. I would NOT recommend this gate for parents with small children as I feel it is a liability to their safety and security. Very disappointed in the quality. I will try to add a picture if/when I can later. But again, as a mother to a small child, this scared me and with how expensive this gate is, we are very disappointed in what has happened in such a short time of using it.***We do not have pets; we are not rough with this gate. We literally use it for our living room area, so it has not sustained any above expected usage****
