This is a super little build to go with the construction sets in the Lego City line, as it's minifig-sized, and a very quick build. My nephew and I built it together and he decided that instead of pressing down pavement, he wanted it to be able to paint streets in rainbows. After some interesting attempts with different types of paint (and a heckload of glitter), the one done with acrylic paint in multiple coats was the winner. We found it easier to paint taking the big wheel off, so it involved some interesting problem-solving on putting things back together without step-by-step instructions. I was so proud of him, seriously, for all of it. Sometimes you give kids Lego and they freeze without instructions, and need those reminders that they can have free play, express themselves, and have fun with that kind of growth and imagination. Painting streets rainbow with a steamroller and inexpensive paints was an amazing experience in just saying "yes, let's do it". Plus it's a very cool steamroller.
