Just use your hand.
As someone who uses cups only! Pass on this i get it your thinkin lets find a easy way and im here to tell you the easy way is to just practice and get a good routine with your fingers because this doesnt put it in the correct angles or pop it out easy. I love the idea behind it but its just not quite there yet.

A must buy if you use Menstrual Discs
I recently purchased a reusable menstrual disc. I was having a hard time getting it in high enough to work properly. I had the idea to look for an applicator and found this one. It has made a huge difference! I felt unable to really use the disc before. Now it's easier than a tampon!

Convenient
This product is very convenient. Ira reusable, safe to use and doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals. I love that I can leave it in for 8-10 hours and typically don’t have to worry about it. Just wash and reuse.

Too small for cup
Too small to fit the cup, but if you buy a bigger one maybe too big to apply.

too slippery
After I removed the cup, there is always some blood transferred to my hand. Now I can't get up, wash and then get back on the toilet to put a fresh cup in, as that would make me drip blood all over the floor. So when I put the lubricant on the applicator and tried to put the cup back in, it was just too slippery. At the end I had blood all over me and put it in the traditional way. Would not recommend this.

Good in theory
In my experience, this was more complicated and required more time and equipment to use than just folding the cup myself and putting it in. Not to mention I don't personally feel comfortable having to bring a container of lube with me everywhere if I need to empty the cup on the go. I think this may be useful to some women who struggle to keep their cup folded with their bare hands, but for me it's too cumbersome.

This is a great little gadget. It's smaller than I expected but the rim of the cup is meant to protrude slightly so this isn't an issue. It took a few attempts the first time. Here's what worked best for me. Use a tiny drop of lube inside the mouth of the tube (opposite end to the finger grip) wipe lube off fingers with a tissue or wash your hands. Fold cup with a C fold. Insert the inner tube and put the tail of your cup through the hole at the top of the tube (opposite end to the grip) and push the cup in firmly letting the inner tube slide out as you do (if you hold the tube cup end down the inner tube shouldn't accidentally slide out). Lube the rim of the cup and the top end of the outside the tube (a little goes a long way). Gently slide in to the desired depth (don't push all the way in or you won't be able to reach the tail to pull it out if you have mobility/reach issues). Note, just as when you insert by hand the cup might not pop open. I usually do a few pelvic-floor exercises whilst gently pulling the tail and it usually does the trick. Top tip. If you have a failure wash all the lube off before trying again. Try not to get lube on the grippy bit of the tube. Bonus - because it's small and has a cap you can pop it in a make-up bag and carry it round. I'd take a small plastic bag to pop it in after use.

So I've been using tampons now for about 10 years. I have really heavy periods and usually use a ultra size tampon. I had previously been on the pill for 12 years due to my heavy periods. I came off the pill last year for various reasons and bam my super heavy periods return. I had previously thought about the menstrual cup but just the thought of it scared me.. Fast forward to a month ago, I was having a conversation with my physiotherapist and she asked if I had used the cup. After our conversation I decided to order it and came to Amazon and found the shordy cup. Price was reasonable and I loved that I could buy both sizes as a pack. I also loved that it included a case that could hold both. Seeing it was my first time trying the cup I did not want to spend much money on it, I just wanted to give it a try.. Soooo..... My last period roughly a month ago I tried it after receiving it. I was shocked at the size of the large cup. Especially since I have heavy periods I know I would need the large cup but the size nearly took me out just looking at it. I decided to try out the small after washing and sterilizing it. I tried at least ten times and couldnt get it in. I decided to wash a video or two on YouTube which turned into a whole night binge of videos and learning different folds. I decided to shower and try again. I was finally able to get it in and felt so proud lol. However... I was only able to keep it in for 2 hours. The pain was terrible and if I coughed or laughed it was sooooooo painful. I came to the conclusion that it wasnt high enough. Again back to the shower to rinse off and give it another try but I just couldn't get it in and decided to give up. I went back to my tampons. I said I would wait until my period ended and then practice inserting it. After that first experience I never tried practicing while off my period. Fast forward to this period that started on Thursday. I decided I wanted to give it another try as it would save me a ton of money that I'm spending on tampons and pads. However after the last experience I decided to buy the SHORDY Applicator Tool 2.0 with Lube, since it works similar to a tampon but just with the cup. It came on the same night but I was too tired to give it a try. So yesterday evening I decided I would try it. I washed it and sterilized it and took a shower. I put my cup in the Applicator and did the 7 fold, I out a small amount of lube on the inner Applicator and just put the Applicator at the opening of my vagina. I gave it one good push and was shocked that the cup literally flew up there like a rocket launcher lol. I didn't feel it and it didn't hurt. I felt for it and could barely feel the tip but I also have long natural nails and didn't want to pinch my self. I pushed on the bottom of the tip to position it and felt the cup kind of pop and seal and left it alone for 8 hours. I slept with it in and wore a overnight pad. I was super conscious of it and wondered if I would over flow the small cup. When I got up in the morning I couldn't feel the tip and had forbid to cut my nails. I panicked because I wasn't sure how I was going to get it out. I literally just pushed and the pressure kind of slid it down a bit to wear I could feel the tip and grab on to it and the cup just slid right out. I was shocked to see that the cup was about 2/3's full after 12 hours on one of my heaviest days! Really had my questioning all the tampons and pads I would normally go through in a day. With all that said... I rate the cups themselves a 7/10. Well made, reasonably priced, comes as a two pack of the same size or a two pack with a large and small and also includes a carrying case. However just the cups on their own is extremely hard to get in and make sure its in the right place( not too low and not too high). With the purchase of the SHORDY Applicator Tool 2.0 with Lube, I rate it a 10. It's comfortable and I don't really feel it. I get a cramp every now and then but that's normal on my period regardless of what I'm using. The applicator takes the stress and thinking out of it. My second time using the applictor it took a few tries to get the cup inside of me. I was trying to do it slowly but that wasn't working. One time I didn't have it inserted in the opening of my vagina. One good push for me seems to do the trick and it launches right up in there and into place. Also try not to put the Applicator too much into the vagina as the cup may go to far. I found just inserting the Applicator right at the opening was the sweet spot for me. After the 7 hour mark I have a little bit of leaking but compared to how many tampons I would have changed at that point this is a game changer. All that said, I don't feel comfortable as yet to use the cup outside of the home or onthe days that I go into the office. I would still use my tampons on those days until I feel 100% comfortable. Due to having to empty and wash the cup I could see this being messy to do in public or at work so not sure I would be comfortable with that. However while at home or on my days off yes I will be using the cup. Didn't intend for this review to be this long however this has been a journey in itself and this is honestly what I went though so why not share it. If you are struggling to get the cup in, then please save yourself the headache and buy the Applicator. It and the lube make it sooooooo much easier to get it in and into place! The only thing I would add is I wish this came with a little bag or case to hold the Applicator and lube. For now I'll carry them around in the box until I can find a nice little cosmetic bag to put them in along with the case for the menstrual cups.

This has been an absolute game changer. I wasn't able to correctly insert cups previously and now I can comfortably and without leaks.

I've been using the Disc for years but it's always a painful hassle getting it in the first time. If you're a user of the Disc you know you can keep it in the entire period cycle as it empties itself but that first time it needs to go in correctly or it'll leak. This device made it easy and ensured it went in easily, correctly and pain free. The lube is necessary to apply on the inside for the Disc to slide out properly. I give it a 10/10.
