Streets of Rage (Crime, Mob)

I'm not one for mob stories, but this was really compelling. Each character is written from first person point of view, and it is written in such a way that the reader identifies with each and every character. Very well written!

Loved this book. Reads pretty quick, but Chandler has a way with words - maybe it's because I'm a masshole too, but I got everything he was saying. Made me laugh out loud a number of times. The real Boston attitude comes through! Wicked Good!

I put off sleep until 3:30 in the morning last night just to finish this book. I really could not put it down. It's a gritty crime drama that takes place in the back streets and sleazier alleys of Boston. The 4 main characters feel real and have their own individual motivations that are very different, yet each one is sympathetic, even if they are "street scum." You see the world of crime through their eyes, and the action and dialog flows smoothly through Chandler's writing style.
