I love how simple and precise this system is for capturing 2- (or even) 3-dimensional areas for shelving, countertops, stair skirts, cabinets, and more! I strongly recommend a small, inexpensive squeeze bottle (with a needle tip) for holding and dispensing the acetone. Also, remember to scribe the sides adjacent to curved or uneven surfaces before final glue-up of the strips for an extra tight, customized fit! As a DIYer, there are many things I learned to improve the process and outcome when using these templating strips; one of the most important: back-cut the final piece that butts up to a perpendicular surface by 15-30° for ease of adjustment and improved joinery.
