No external power is amazing!
Most of these devices require external power connected to operate, but not this splitter. Plug your HDMI into either end and watch the indicator bulb light up when you turn on your tv/monitor. Easy to use and works perfectly!

Nice 8K Ultra HD Bi-Directional Switch
I like options. The switch offers 2 in and 1 out or 2 in and two out. Although I don’t own any 4K or 8K products, it works flawlessly on my 1080P big screen TV with a Roku Stick and an Amazon Fire Stick doing 2 in and 1 out. I didn’t check how it worked doing 1 in and 2 out because I don’t have a second monitor/TV to connect to. I will leave that up to another buyer. The switch is smart enough to know how you are using it and operates according to how you hookup it up (2in/1 out or 1in/2out).Keep in mind that the switch cannot display to two monitors at the same time when being used in the 1in/2out configuration.I did find that I needed to power the switch with the included USB A/C cable to get it to display my Amazon Fire Stick and Roku Stick. There just wasn’t enough power in the switch to run them without it. There is not a power supply (wall wart) included. On the front of the device the power supply port indicates it takes a 5-volt power supply, but I could not find anywhere what the amperage should be of the power supply. So I connected the device to a 5V/2.0 amp one and it worked find. The audio works just find either to my TV speakers or back to my receiver via the HDMI cable from the TV to the receiver. No noticeable noise. For the build quality, the device is in a nice metal case. For what it’s, the device is not light weight. So I assuming some nice parts were used to build it. HDMI cables all fit in tight. No wiggling or falling out issues. There are two very small red LED lights to indicate which HDMI port is selected. The lights are very small and don’t emit enough light that will light up the back of your TV and annoy you. The only time the lights would be an issue if you would have the device facing you directly. Then you would see them. The device is small in size. Two inches in depth (bad iPhone photo showing the ruler not level at the top, but it was) and two and quarter inches wide (another bad iPhone photo) and half inch high.3/19/2023. I wanted to update my review regarding how the device came in handy when my wife and I were at hotel that had locked out all the HDMI ports on the TV except for the one they were using for their source. I have seen this now more than once at hotels where only one HDMI port is active, and you cannot go into the TV’s settings to change it. With this device I was able to plug it into the one and only active HDMI port, then plug the hotel HDMI cable into it and then our Roku. Instead of going back and forth with plugging and unplugging device cables whenever we wanted to watch a specific source (hotel or Roku), this device made it easy to just push a button (1 or 2) on the device for the source we wanted to watch.

Very useful
This is not the first HDMI swticher I've had, after using one I find them so useful I have several now...I recently got a new PC and it is on the same desk as the laptop I use for work. The desk has two monitors which connect to a laptop via a dock, instead of unplugging the monitors each I want to swap between my desktop PC and the laptop, I've used these and they are brilliant....I have 2 of these switches, one for each monitor and I can switch between the input devices for each. This is great as I can use both displays for my work laptop and then click a button and view my desktop PC.Also - I can mix-and-match and have one monitor switched to my laptop and the second monitor switched to my desktop PC. It takes a few seconds to switch between the sources but it works flawlessly and the image is excellent, I've had no issues whatsoever. This is a great solution for anyone who has two machines set up to a monitor and wants to swap the input, but they are great for TVs too. I have a wall mounted TV and can't get the the HDMI ports easily, I am going to get another of these so I can simply switch between my Fire TV stick and my Nintendo Switch using the one HDMI port. These don't come with any HDMI cables, I purchased Amazon's own "Amazon Basics Flexible HDMI Cable" as they do a 0.3m metre length which is ideal for my monitors as I don't want a long cable (just long enough to dangle underneath the monitor!).In a nutshell: I absolutely recommend these, they are superb solution if you are short on HDMI ports, or if you want an easy way to share a monitor between 2 different devices without having to swap cables every time!

Does the job as intended.
This hdmi switcher has an all aluminium body that has 1 usb in the top, and 2 in the bottom. It has 1 button that switches between the 2 in inputs. There is a red led indicator to show you what input you are currently on. There is also a 5v usb C input which I'm assuming is to power the switch should the various devices need it. I'm guessing for 8k inputs. But most the time this input is not needed, and the switch works fine without it. The build quality of the switch is very good, But on this model the hdmi ports are not gold plated like my other model. My other hdmi switcher is identical to this but with blue led's instead of red. And was £10 cheaper than this model. I haven't fully tested this switch on my Xbox series x yet so can't tell you how well this one performs, but my other one works fantastic with the series x so I know this one will work exactly the same. As they look identical just this version hasn't got blue led's or gold ports. I've tested the switch and everything works as expected on an older tv we have in the bedroom. The reason I requested this hdmi for review as our bedroom only has 1 hdmi port so this certainly solved our issue. The switching is quite slow compared to my other model, and sometimes you press the button on this model it doesn't always switch every time you press it, as you can see in my video. But this is on an older tv so you be the judge of how well it performs. I just wanted to do a video to show this.I've also tried powering it with DC input as well, just in case that was the reason it wasn't switching every time. But it still misses switching on occasions. But this isn't a major problem for me at the moment. So How long the switch lasts time will tell.but I will update this review should this switcher fail to switch later down the line. But overall I am happy with the switch. It's just not as good as my other model.☆☆☆☆☆
