My 8 year old fell in love with this game at school. Her clever as an incentive to play while learning math. It’s fun quick game at home that everyone can do. it doesn’t take long and you can switch it up as they get more advanced by changing math to division, subtraction or whatever you can work out for the game to work. Good quality and is a pretty accessory as well as a fun game!

Shut the Box is incredibly easy to pick up, making it a great pub game. I personally enjoy this with family and friends while sipping bourbon, or as a quick family game with kids. I recommend this for anyone from about 8-108 as a light and casual competitive game. This particular version is my recommendation, as it accommodates up to 4 players. The game is good quality and has stood up to 100+ plays and plenty of shuffling between houses. It also arrived in good shape and with a nice wood stain.

Ordered this to add to game night options. It is a simple and quick game with a few playing options. It is a good game to play with friends where you plan to mainly talk as it does not require a lot of strategy. I can see how it would be more fun to play with younger children who are learning to manage numbers. It is a simple and fun was to learn- now I just have to wait for grandkids though I feel it will be pulled out periodically on girl’s game nights. The quality is good and so much nicer to have a wooden game over a plastic one. One piece was off when it arrived but was easy to slide back on and secure. No issues since.

Great game

My boyfriend is a carpenter and someone asked him to make one of these boxes and that is when we first learned of this game. The one we made was just for 1 person at a time. The game sounded interesting and I thought we might build one for ourselves someday, well, you know how it is with mechanic husbands, painter husbands, ect. Same with carpenters. You might get tired of waiting. But I was looking for a Christmas gift for my 2 nephews ages 8 and 12. That's a pretty big gap but I wanted something they could both enjoy, so I remembered this game so I went to Amazon and was thrilled when I saw this game box that was made for 4 players. I ended up getting one set for my nephews (who live in another state) and a set for my son, his wife, and my grandson. My brother called me to tell me how much his boys loved the game and how the younger one was so excited that he was able to shut the box 4 times the first time they played. And my son and his wife has played theirs many times with Ben, my grandson, who is 5 and learning to count, and other friends. The box is well made It is true that the numbers are not professional. I remember one of my son's having an issue that my carpenter boyfriend noticed but it was so insignificant that I can't remember what it was and it didn't effect game play at all. What I like best is that the kids that play have just as much a chance to win as adults.

Fun, quick little game to pass time.

This is a great game that dates way back when. It's a fast game so you aren't getting board and surprisingly you don't shut the box to often. It's well made and looks great. You won't be disappointed in this companies Shut The Box game

The game involves math that our 8 year old grandson can do and enjoys it. This makes it a game that is attractive to our family. It is quick to play one game and often another 6 follow. The best of the number of games claims they won; however, during the set almost everyone playing has one at least one game - everyone leaves with some degree of success.

I am very pleased with this game. It is well made and will last through many years of play. The idea of the game is a simple concept easily understood by all ages, but there's a strategy and the more you play, the more you develop your individual tactics. Very pleasing and intriguing game!

The game arrived quickly, quicker than I expected. Only complaint is that I paid more for shipping than the cost of the game itself.
