Corner Spoon

I've accumulated quite a few cooking utensils over the years, and this has become my go-to wooden one. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like a wooden version of a silicone spoonula. It combines the scraping and stirring ability of a spatula with just enough scoop to make serving and transferring food practical. That shape turns out to be incredibly useful. The leading edge is thin enough to get under food, scrape the corners of pans, and break up ingredients while cooking. At the same time, the shallow bowl shape lets it move larger quantities of food and even handle some light serving duties. What I like: * versatile spoon/spatula hybrid design * effective for stirring, scraping, and sautéing * useful for light serving * gentle on cookware * attractive teak construction * comfortable to hold The teak wood has held up very well in my kitchen. It feels substantial without being heavy, and unlike some cheaper wooden utensils, it doesn't feel rough or unfinished. The craftsmanship is immediately apparent when you pick it up. I also appreciate having an option that isn't metal, plastic, or silicone. There are plenty of situations where a wooden utensil simply feels right, especially when cooking in nonstick, carbon steel, cast iron, or enameled cookware. What surprised me most is how often I reach for it. I originally bought it because the shape looked interesting, but it quickly earned a permanent spot in my utensil crock. It's one of those tools that ends up being useful for far more tasks than you initially expect. If you enjoy spoonulas but prefer natural materials, this is an excellent alternative. The combination of scraping ability, stirring performance, and light serving capability makes it one of the most versatile wooden utensils I've used.

This is my new favorite spoon. I’ve had just the cheep bamboo ones in the past but they break so easily and don’t have any heft to them so I wanted something more sturdy and pretty. This spoon is very well made and has just the right weight and feel in my hand. I used to have a spoon and a flat spatula but this replaced both as it has a flat edge but also a hollow for scooping. The wood was sanded smooth and I oiled it before I used it so that it wouldn’t get that rough feel from the wood fibers absorbing water. Every one is unique because this is real wood and mine had plenty of beautiful lines and swirls than give the piece character. I will be adding more utensils from this maker to my collection soon. A perfect hand crafted piece for an unbelievable price.

I never thought I would be so enamored with a wooden spoon. It’s absolutely beautiful. I’m a carpenter by trade and the wood that this is made from and the quality and care in which it’s made is obvious. It actually has a soft silky feel and the teak glistens. I’m sure I will have this for many years to come, and I will take great care of it. These people clearly care about their products and what they put in your hands. I just like to express my appreciation to them for caring about what they do. This is truly a really nice piece.

This is my absolute favorite wooden spoon for cooking. It is heavy duty and not thin or weak. I don't worry about putting to much force on it and it just snapping like a dried twig. Because the spoons are either right or left handed designs it makes for a comfortable and powerful grip that allows for exceedingly efficient stirring, especially of pot edges. The spoon gets in the groove. I gifted one a few months ago and was later told how much they love this wood spoon. I use this spoon so much I just bought a second one. I also like how FAAY makes a right handed and a left handed version. Its not a gimmick. It is very thoughtful. I have relatives who are left handed. I bet if Ned Flanders knew about the left handed version of this spoon he would stock it.

Regret to meet this useful utensil so late!!!

I love the spoon but don’t love that I have to oil it after every washing/ use. If I don’t, it looks terrible. I wish they would do a good job pre-seasoning it so I don’t have to do so much work. It’s high maintenance like a wood cutting board.

I have purchased from them twice now, and their utensils are very well made, the wood is smooth and they are always the perfect size. W especially like the right and left hand corner spoons, being left handed they really work well and allow you to get food from the corner of the pan. My right handed wife thinks the same for the right-handed corner spoon.

This is a solid wooden spoon for cooking. Well worth the price.

I loved this spoon until after only using it maybe 6 times a big chip came out of the center of it. This was VERY expensive. Extremely disappointed.
