It Works! (Mustang 2016 ecoboost knocking noise)
I recently experienced a remarkable transformation in my 2016 Mustang Ecoboost, thanks to the LIQUI MOLY Oil Additive Cera Tec 3721. As someone with a passion for automobiles and a background as a software engineer, I'm always on the lookout for ways to improve my vehicle's performance. This product turned out to be a game-changer. One of the issues I had been facing with my Mustang was a persistent knocking noise, which can be quite concerning for any car enthusiast. After researching potential solutions, I decided to give LIQUI MOLY Cera Tec 3721 a try. And I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the results. The primary reason I opted for this oil additive was its promise of ceramic wear and tear protection. As someone who values the longevity of my vehicles, I wanted to reduce engine friction and wear as much as possible. This product did exactly that. The moment I started using it, I noticed a significant reduction in engine noise, especially the knocking sound that had been bothering me. It provided a smoother engine performance, and the difference was noticeable. What impressed me even more was the impact on fuel consumption. As someone who loves to travel and has explored six states during my time in the USA, fuel efficiency is a key concern. LIQUI MOLY Cera Tec 3721 not only improved my engine's performance but also led to lower fuel consumption. This means fewer stops at the gas station and more miles of adventure. Moreover, being a mentor and research assistant, I appreciate the science behind this product. It's clear that LIQUI MOLY has put considerable effort into developing a high-quality additive that benefits both petrol and diesel engines. This is the kind of innovation that I believe will shape the future of the automotive industry. In conclusion, LIQUI MOLY Oil Additive Cera Tec 3721 has not only fixed the knocking noise in my Mustang but has also enhanced its overall performance. It's a product that aligns with my goal of staying at the forefront of technology and innovation in the IT sector, even when it comes to my car. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve engine performance, reduce friction, and achieve better fuel efficiency. It's a small investment with significant returns for your vehicle.

Must have in modern high compression GDI engines!
So bought this for my new Mazda 3 Turbos' first oil change. I was originally going to use Liqui Moly MoS2, due to the OE Mazda oil using a very high Moly PPM (800ish) formula and not having easy access to a similarly formulated oil. After doing some more reading i decided to use Ceratec instead, mostly because it doesn't make the oil look super dark (for warranty purposes, If for some reason i do have a problem with the engin i don't want the dealer saying I just didn't change my oil). So initial results are awesome, the valve noise is pretty much gone. And the engin just feels smoother, and sounds like is not even trying when reving it out. With that success I bought another one for my girlfriends non turbo CX30 when i changed her oil. Her engine has always been just a little noisier than my old non turbo mazda 3, and my new Turbo model. I've used the same oil in both (Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w20 or 5w30 in the turbo). It had the normal lifter noise, but it always sounded raspy when accelerating hard, like it was really at the edge when floored. So as a before and after test I changed the oil fist with NO Ceratec, engin sounded happier, ran a little smoother, but basically the same as before, Normal stuff after an oil change. So I added the Ceratec, literally you could hear the lifter noise melt away as it mixed with the oil, I was in my garage so the effect was even more stark. The engine also idled smoother, to the point if you were in the car, you wouldn't know it was on without the engine RPM readout. So i took it for a test drive down the road and stepped on it after getting it up to Temp. The raspiness was completely gone, it sounded like it was happy as a clam reving right up to redline. This wasn't a "i think it might be better" differance, it was a night and day difference, a wow that impressive difference. As for fuel consumption reduction claims, i don't know yet, from what i read you need to dive it 300-400 miles to get a valid result. I only have 150ish on mine and 75 on hers. First impressions were really positive, highly recommend to anyone wanting to keep a car for a really long time. Only downside is the price, this stuff is really expensive... but i look at it like this, $600 over the life if the vehicle if you keep it to 150K miles, with 6k oil change intervals is pretty cheap insurance. compared to an engine rebuild.

An amazing product
160k infinity v6 engine ran a lot smoother and light ticking sound was completely gone as well as coolant temps were around 10° cooler. I've added it to all vehicles in our family with similar results.

My 2018 Mustang GT BBQ Tick went away but came back.
Update 1-26-2019: The BBQ/Typewriter tick came back this morning. So, I'd say that if you're trying to use the Ceratec to quiet the tick, it will work for a little while, but will eventually return. I don't think there's anything else that can be done to quiet the tick and it's a crap shoot if you get it serviced. In my case, it only ticks during warm up after the transition from high idle, and goes away completely once the entire engine is fully warmed up, so I'm just going to live with it. I'm still giving the Ceratec a 5 because it did reduce my friction enough for a small MPG improvement, so I believe it works as advertised and I'm not going to blame them for not silencing the tick. Update 1-20-2019: After a few days with only the one bottle poured in, my tick came back. Since one bottle is only 1/2 the recommended concentration for the 10 quarts in a 2018 Mustang GT, I bought another bottle and added it and the tick is now gone again. We'll see if it lasts. I can tell you that my fuel economy has improved. I have a little over 11,000 miles now and I always display my fuel economy meter and I use it. I've never reset my average fuel economy meter since the day I bought the car new. I've been pretty well stuck at 21.6 MPG for the last couple months. Since I've put in the Ceratec, my average fuel economy has increased to 21.8 MPG, so it's jumped 0.2 MPG in roughly 2 weeks. With over 11,000 miles included in the average, it takes a pretty significant improvement in friction to make that average move that much in that short a time. Even if my tick comes back again, I'm sold on Ceratec for the friction reduction alone. I'll update the review again if the tick comes back. Original Review: My 2018 Mustang GT developed the infamous BBQ/Typewriter tick immedaitely after my first oil change. I used Mobil One synthetic at 3500 miles on my first oil change. I did my 2nd oil change at 10K miles with Mobile One, but the tick was still present. After seeing people on YouTube having success eliminating their tick with Ceratec and after reading the one other review of a 2018 Mustang GT owner here on Amazon, I decided to try it. I ordered 1 bottle. It arrived on a Friday and poured it in immediately after I got home from work. It's an hour drive one way to work, so the engine was at operating temperature, where, in my case, the tick goes away. I only get it when the engine switches from high idle to normal idle after a cold start and the tick is quite loud for at least the 15 minutes it takes for me to get to the drive through where I get my morning coffee, where I can really hear the tick echoing off the wall. After pouring it in, I started the car and let it idle, but didn't really notice any change. I then took it for a drive and did some hard pulls to get the engine to rev under load to the red line. After that, I put the car in the garage until I drove to work on Monday. When I went to the drive through to get my morning coffee, there was no tick! It was gone! I listened real hard, but all I could hear was the normal direct injector pump noise. Then, after my hour long drive to work, I left car running and got out to listen. With the hood closed, it was quieter than at any time since I bought it. It was virtually silent. Even the DI pump noise was barely audible. The car also sounded and felt different during the drive to work. The engine seemed like it was smoother somehow. It might have been my imagination, but after the silence in my parking spot at work, I wouldn't be surprised if the engine did run smoother. At any rate, I only used 1 bottle to treat the 10 quarts of oil, which is half the amount the mfg says to use. So, I'll see how long it lasts, but it definitely worked even at half its normal concentration. I highly recommend it for anyone who has the 2018 Mustang GT tick.

Ceramic nano particles are ok
This is works great in my 2008 BMW Z4. No problems, running smooth. Should help in the long run make my engine run without problems that come with old age. It’s cheap insurance and has been tested by a huge number of people with zero complaints. It also makes a lot of sense when you understand how this works and that the ceramic is turned into powder so it doesn’t actually harm your engine but bonds to the metal instead and prevents further wear. This is a highly popular additive and you would think that if there was problems that people would be complaining by now. Feels like a safe play.

Works!!!!!!!!
I was skeptical, but thought with all the good reviews I would give it a try. I am absolutely astonished at how amazing this product is and works. 50 miles now since I used it and I’ve never had my engine run so smoothly. It’s not a gimmick. This is the real stuff. Do not hesitate to buy. It is amazing.!!

VALE TOTALMENTE LA PENA
If you're meticulous like me and take great care of your vehicle, Liqui Moly Ceratec is a great option. I've used it in my Infiniti G37, which has a high-performance VQ37 engine, and I have noticed changes in the engine. For example, it now runs smoother and with a more relaxed sound. However, the best thing you can do is combine it with a high-quality, fully synthetic oil. I don't recommend combining it with another Liqui Moly oil like Molygen, since that oil incorporates its own anti-friction agent. But if you use other brands, it will certainly be a good combination.

It is one of the few things you can buy that actually work
TLDR: Makes all the numbers better. Because there is less energy being wasted due to friction. Gives engine oil a physical ceramic lubricant and a chemically bonded layer to all metal parts the oil touches, making the engine run with less wear and friction, saving a bit of fuel and repair bills. I have heard a LIQUI MOLY representative say that if you change your oil with Cera Tec then you can go 30,000 miles before the next oil change......................Maybe technically it is possible, but please no one do this. Change your oil every year or more if you do loads of miles. Update: I have put this in my new petrol hybrid. Small put noticeable mpg improvement. Noise reduction is more noticeable, especially at low and cruising RPMs. As the engine cuts in and out constantly due to hybrid system, the chemically bonded layer of lubrication definitely helps with the advanced stop start system. As there is always a layer of lubrication before the oil circulates. Peace of mind knowing that I have additional protection in winter and with short journeys. I had to buy something to suck out some of the oil before I added Cera Tec. The service was due in 4 months so I didn't want to bother changing it myself. Service has to be done by a dealer to maintain warranty, but you can change it yourself between that if you want. I don't put enough miles on it to justify a 6 month oil change. When they change the oil at the dealer I will lose the ceramic physical part, but the chemically bonded layer will still be there and lasts about 30,000 miles. I will put MoS2 in when they change the oil to bring back the physical part. I put this in my older diesel and a petrol car. I also did an engine flush in both. For best results do it with an oil change, do it yourself or get it done for you and then add it. My car needs 4.5l of oil Cera Tec takes up 0.3 so I put in 4.2l of oil and then Cera Tec. Pro tip, when you have poured in the bottle, put some oil the bottle and shake to get the most out of the bottle and in your engine. How it works: There are 2 parts to it. The first is the "physical" lubricant element which is ceramic based hence the name. LIQUI MOLY also sell M0s2 which is a physical particulate lubricant, but Cera Tec is more advanced and modern. Think of the physical element as another layer of lubricity that rides in the oil film so you have 2 layers of protection between the metal parts of your engine. Castrol use liquid titanium as their physical part in their oil to improve lubrication but the concentrations are not as high as a dedicated oil additive. This part works as soon as you put it in with the oil. The ceramic physical part also helps a lot with reducing the heat degradation of the oil. Ceramic has great thermal properties and this will keep the oil film at its best for longer. The second and more important, unique and noticeable part is the "chemical element." Cera Tec has a chemical that will bond to the metal components of the engine that the oil touches, leaving a bonded layer of lubrication that will last up to 30,000 miles. Meaning you have 3 layers of lubrication in the engine instead of just the oil film which degrades over time and usage. The chemical part takes about 500 miles of driving to work as it needs heat and pressure to form on the metal surfaces. You can probably speed this up with a few motorway trips at mid RPMs. Once it has, you will notice the difference!!! Here is what I have noticed: 5mpg improvement. Most people find a 1-2% improvement in fuel economy which over 10,000 miles a year adds up! Cold starts sound a lot better. It helps reduce engine wear from short journeys. Power delivery is smoother and the car feels happier to rev. It has made my diesel so much quieter, I would even suggest buying this just to help with the "diesel tapping" sound. The engine just sounds better and is so much quieter at lower cruising revs. Engine start up is much smoother and quieter as there is a layer of lubrication at all times even before the oil starts to circulate. This may help prolong starter motors as well as it can crank the engine with less effort at cold start up. If you had a fast car that can take corners at speed your engine could experience temporary oil starvation which can cause a lot of damage, but with Cera Tec, you have that bonded layer of lubrication to save the engine in rare circumstances like this. When you change your oil next you will lose the physical ceramic lubricant, but the chemical layers lasts for 30,000 miles. So just buy LIQUI MOLY M0s2 for the 2 oil changes after Cera Tec to bring back the physical part. Remember don't buy Cera Tec for every oil change!!!! Or your wallet will hurt. Use Cera Tec once and then the next 2 oil changes should be done with M0s2 and then back to Cera Tec for the 4th. (If you change oil every 10,000 miles and or once a year) Change your oil just before winter and use Cera Tec, your engine will thank you. Remember it will take about 500 miles of driving to experience full benefits. Worth every penny.
