I would not have guessed that a new SONY Bravia would create an electromagnetic 'storm' for a Heath Kit clock, which would jump five, ten, twenty minutes fast and / or slow within a few hours. Thank goodness for the internet. Within a few quick searches the answer was revealed : EMI could be (and was) the cause. After plugging the Bridea filter between the outlet and the existing devices (SONY, speakers, clock, etc), the clock settled down without a shutter and kept perfect time thereafter. The filter is functional, easy to install, noiseless and has excellent value. Peace of mind, too, if human exposure to EMI is an issue.

I opened it up to check what it had inside (no longer eligible for return). I bought it to keep the RF from my ham transmitter from interfering with my cable box. Anyway, what inside is a large (~24 uF) capacitor, two ceramic disc capacitors (~330 nF each), and an ineffective 330 kOhm bleeder resistor. You get ~330 nF from each side of the line to the ground pin. The bleeder is connected from L to N conductors, so when the device is unplugged, it doesn't bleed the stored charge on the capacitors. This point was mentioned in several reviews - no you know how and why it happens. There is no inductive or magnetic component in the alleged filter. The 24 uF is connected from L to N and will draw approximately 1 Amp at 120V 60 Hz. It will take the bleeder resistor about 24 seconds to discharge the capacitor, so if you touch the prongs immediately after unplugging it, you could get a substantial shock (see other reviews). I was suspicious when the mentioned "dirty electricity" in their advertising. I've been an electrical engineer for 60 years and have never encountered any dirt in electricity. I assumed they mean electricity with noise riding on it, which is quite common. In any case, the ability of the device to remove noise is likely to be limited to differential mode noise. It my remove some higher frequency noise, such as that caused by motors and contactors. One of its weaknesses is that it can only bypass the L and N to the "ground" pin; in real world noise situations the noise is often on the "ground" conductor as well as on the L and N. The case and male and female line connectors look quite good, so I used them and added my own filter in the volume where their capacitor sits. I was also be able to reuse their circuit board. My filter, a tri-filar wound toroid core, did the job for me.

I bought these for my wife as a last chance choice to help her sleep through the night. We have a power plug right behind the headboard. Added these 2 devices to that plug and it worked great. Within 2 days she slept great. Woke up from the complete night's sleep. I was NOT a believer of this dirty electricity. BUT I WAS WRONG. My daughter got some for her bedroom too.

was having interference particularly with fm and am radio bands. Found a solution and this wasn’t it. Hoping it would help even a little but made zero effect. I’m only giving it 3 stars because it’s not the sellers fault and return process was easy.

I run on a treadmill while watching TV. My treadmill was causing interference. My stationary bike trainer does not have the same issue. Plugging the treadmill into this and then into a receptacle on the opposite side of the room from my TV eliminated the problem virtually always. Occasionally I still have a few horizontal lines, but I'm unsure whether it's from the electric connection or is direct EMF from the motor. This solved the problem both for Roku and computer-streamed shows.

Unfortunately it did not solve the problem! I have a washing machine that causes lights to flicker in two rooms next to the utility room. I have already had an electrician to work on the issue but so far no success! I have replaced light fixtures, receptacle, tightened screws, and inspect the breaker box to our home! Yes, I replaced light bulbs also. I even replaced the washer!!!!

Purchased this to mitigate the potential EMF and dirty electricity in our home. As you can see from the short video, it actually seems to produce 18%+ more electromagnetic radiation and also introduces 4.2 mG+ of H-field Magnetic Radiation. The meter seems to work well only triggering when near WiFi routers, smart switches, plugs and microwaves. According to the K132 EMF Tester the plugs do not work on cleaning up the EMF in the house. We bought 8 of these for our home installed them and didn’t notice any difference ordered 4 more so we could have at least 2 in each room and ordered the tester…. I tested all 12 dirty electricity plugs we have and the results are the same some actually produced higher numbers of EMF Radiation but none less than in the video. When 4 of these are plugged in, in a single room and walking around the room with the meter the electromagnetic radiation actually is increased with the plugs in. More so when they are not plugged into. I’m sure based on other reviews this product might do a good job of filtering electricity in line but from what I can see does nothing for electromagnetic radiation in the air, and actually appears to make it worse. Based on this I’m going to return the 4 we can and reach out to the seller about returning the other 8 that are past the Amazon 30 day return policy. Based on what I’ve experienced I can’t recommend this product. And have removed them all from our home.

I bought because of a microwave on a dedicated circuit to tripping the arc fault breaker randomly, it's been 4 months and no issues, previously it would trip anywhere between a week or a month, the microwave has a noise filter,but this additional filter really makes a difference when we have these new electric codes with sensitive circuit breakers

Just received two of the items today. I already have 4 x Stetzeier dirty electricity devices plus StetzeMicrosurge Meter. I compared each brand in regards to amount of reduction shown in Stetzeier Microsurge Meter. These new devices reduces equal or slightly better reduction than Stetzeier devices. I am very pleased and will keep them!
