do i have to add some liquid for the product to work? my older model requires some liquid even crushing ice.

I have the Ninja Nutri-Blender Pro (BN400 Series) 1. start by adding fresh fruits and veggies 2. Next add leafy greens and herbs 3. Pour in liquid or yogurt next. For thinner results or a juice-like drink, add more liquid as desired 4. Next add any dry or sticky ingredients like seeds, powder, and nut butters 5. Top off with ice or frozen ingredients Hope that helps you. TJ

Where can I purchase additional cup and blade assembly that are compatible with BN401?

I have spent MANY hours searching the internet for a replacement blade assembly for the BN401 Nutri Pro Compact Personal Blender, Auto-IQ Technology, 1100-Peak- watts. This model might be an older discontinued machine. I also have burned out a magic Bullet blender that does not last but a few hours blending liquid with ice cubes. An unfortunate 4 hour life span of a new $100+ purchase. This is why I also have been searching many many hours for a blade assembly for a Ninja BN401 base assembly before buying another most likely discontinued model... I gave up!
