Provides peace of mind!
Love that I can see the temperature from my phone when not at home. You can also set alerts for if the temps dips below a set range. Provided me with great peace of mind while away since I’m storing breastmilk in the freezer. Definitely worth the price! Easy to set up and has been durable with opening and shutting the freezer frequently. I have other Grovee monitors, so this was compatible with the WiFi plug I already use for those.

It is easy to setup and use and is accurate as advertised
I recently (5-6-24) purchased the GoveeLife WiFi Freezer Thermometer Alarm 2 Pack, Remote App Alert. I can tell you it is easy to setup and use and is accurate as advertised. I have seen reviews about this device saying it can be hard to set up and there were issues with false alarms and the lower limit setting only went to -4 F. My experience with setup and programing went flawlessly. I just used the simple directions that came in the box. Download the app, plug the gateway into a receptacle, pull the battery disconnect tap out of the thermometer and plug the probe into it. Follow the directions and the app does all the work, prompting you for what to do next. Note, I was prompted to wait for the gateway to download an update, and then later for the the thermometer to downloaded one. I did not have to do anything to facilitate these updates except wait a few seconds for each one. As far as false alarms, you can easily avoid them by setting the time in the temperature alarm section on the slide bar to 10 minutes. That way if your temp rises when your freezer goes through the defrost cycle, or when you open the door to get something, or when you bring a bunch of groceries home and have the door opened for an extended period you shouldn't get an alarm unless the temp stays out of range for over ten minutes. After viewing temperature data for five days I found that my freezer temp never rose above 18 degrees and that was after shopping and having the door open for an extend time while rearranging and putting stuff in. Note, when I first set it up I just had the probe hanging on the door so when you had it open it was effectively reporting room temp after a few seconds. I moved it about half way back into the freezer and stuck it on side wall. Now I don't get immediate wide temp swings when we open and close the door. Reaching in to grab something quickly will produce a 2 to 6 degree temp drop and temp returns to normal within a couple of minutes after closing the door. I can actually look at the recorded data and tell when the door was opened or the freezer had a defrost cycle. As far as the lower limit setting, mine has a lower limit setting down to -40. This may be something that will change for the units that only have a -4 setting with an update. I set my lower limit to -12 and upper at 22. My data stream shows that my freezer runs about -4 to -6 when it the door stays closed and it isn't going through a defrost cycle. I think the 2 degree swing comes from the ice maker cycling because it heats the tray the cubes are in for release and then introduces water from the service line to fill. My probe is mounted near the area of the ice maker, if I moved it down a shelf or two it might not see this fluctuation. I likely won't move it as it is just more data about the normal operation of my freezer. This is a great way to protect your self from a food loss and a smelly mess. Not only will it send an alarm to let you know something has gone wrong but you can see by looking at the date occasionally if your freezer is not behaving normally before it become a big problem. You can also tell if someone is holding the door while they sneak a few spoons of ice cream! I bought it so I have peace of mind when I'm on a trip. If something goes wrong I can call someone to go empty the freezer, keep the food from going to waste maybe, and not come home to the kind of mess that would take a hazmat team to clean up. The price was also great considering you get two thermometers in the pack. Great product that I would buy again.

Almost perfect
We bought these to replace our therma units that just got rebranded as glacier grid. Since then, prices have increased for subscription use and we dont like it. Got this to test at one of our stores and the setup is really easy. The only issue is that if you dont have access points throughout your business or want to pull ethernet for each device, your are going to have major connectivity issues. Because most walk in coolers and freezers have thick walls, the signal gets weaker through them and cannot report correctly. To remedy this, we had to install access points closer to our walk in freezers and coolers so the signal is stronger and can report correctly. Not a deal breaker, but it did add to our overall costs. The way we see it, spend a little bit more up front, and dont have to pay subscription costs.

Super Product
After a freezer disaster I bought this to prevent it happening again. The setup could not have been easier and the thermometers are very accurate and quick responding. Now I know exactly what is happening in the freezers. I would have spent more, but didn't have to because this is such a good value. The app is well written, I like the way I can display the past day, week, month, etc. Very nice

Easy to use and love the alarm
I bought this plus several other Govee thermometers. I put them all side by side to check and they were all within stated tolerance. I purchased because our outdoor refrigerator gets left open every once in a while and then I have to throw some stuff away, defrost and start over!!! The other day I got an alarm on my phone while at work! Called home and sure enough door was not closed. Paid for itself many times over in that one incident. You can program the alarm temperature and how long it has to be at that temperature before the alarm. That is a plus because if someone opens the door for a minute looking for something the temperature WILL rise and I don’t want a bunch of false alarm’s. Having the time delay is an excellent idea. Was very easy to setup and use also. I also like that I can look back and see the range that the refrigerator operates. What temperature the compressor turns off and back on at and then it shows you the average temperature. Compare that to what you have set at to see how well the refrigerator is working.

Great idea. Poor hub signal and wildly inaccurate readings.
Update after using these for a while at two locations. These are absolute junk. I would recommend not wasting money on them. They all are about 25 to 40 degrees of variance from the actual temperature. I kept getting alerts the freezer was too warm. It looks and feels fine so I put a thermometer in and verified it was 0 degrees. The app and displays on the 4 sensors are unacceptably far off from the temperature. Same with the fridge temperature. -- This is a great idea in theory. I want to know if my freezers onsite and at a remote location get too warm or if a power outage caused an extended defrost that had frozen again when the power returned. I like the graph in the app. However, the hub is bluetooth to the sensor. Then WiFi for uploading the data. The WiFi seems to connect well. However, the BT sensor doesn't have enough power to communicate very far. The nearest receptacle is about 12 feet away. Direct line of site to the thermometer. Apparently, that is too far. The sensor doesn't stay connected. If I put it in the same receptacle as the freezer, the freezer interrupts the WiFi. Also, one freezer is in the garage and the other in the kitchen. This means you would likely have to buy another hub to put close to the other freezer so the bluetooth can reach the hub. I really like the water leak sensors they sell. They work well and have good range all over the location to the hub. That hub is not BT though. The ones required for the temperature sensors just don't appear to have the range to be useful unless you have 1 hub per appliance and are able to place it fairly close to the temperature unit. If they could communicate like the water leak sensors do with the non BT transmission I would buy more of these for sure. if they can't log the temperature data for me or send an alert, they aren't of much use except to know the realtime temperature in the freezer/fridge.

Great product!!
This works great for monitoring our two freezers in the garage! About two weeks ago we found our main deep freeze in the garage didn't close or seal right for whatever reason. We left for a couple hours and came back and everything was almost totally thawed out and filled with ice. Either the door didn't close, or the compressor stopped... Don't know. But I wanted something I could remotely monitor the internal temperature of this, and the freezer of our vertical freezer/fridge next to it. This was priced good, and seemed to have pretty decent reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. This just fits the bill perfectly and have to say I'm pretty impressed so far. It reads very accurate, within a half degree of an expensive, precision calibrated temp probe I have. Very easy to set up and the magnetic displays are bright, good contrast, and easy to read. I love I can see temps for both freezers quickly at a glance. The best part though, is it's app functionality and data monitoring and alarm. The app is easy to use, intuitive, and has tons of data, with graph for monitoring over time. You can set alerts sent to the app if the temp rises over a certain temp for a specified time. Great to have peace of mind always being able to see the temp instantly and get an alert of something isn't right so you don't lose an entire freezer of expensive food. I guess some people leave bad reviews for the app and setup, but maybe they're just not tech savvy or it's too overwhelming for them. Who knows, but if you're at all good with modern tech, setup and customizing everything is a cinch. Highly recommend!

One was spoilt, one worked
One thermometer worked well, while the other didn't (had troubles connecting to the bluetooth gateway, and kept requesting a firmware update even though I'd updated it several times). Would have returned one, but the return and refund window had closed. For a 50% hit rate, I'd say this was a little expensive.
