If you want to trench but not a wide one, this is the tool for you! Very strong and made from thick steel. Makes a 3 inch wide trench up to 12 inches deep, but we dig only for 8 inches. A must have for 1 acre or more property. For the price you can't afford to not have one, this will come in handy. It will fit perfectly onto the 2 inch hitch.

I purchased this to dig a 100" trench for conduit and electric wire with my Mule and an implement lift. It took me a couple months to getting around to putting it all together, but when I did, I saw that it was made very well and assembly was a breeze. I finally got around to using it yesterday and my impression is that this thing is awesome! I live in North Alabama and we grow HUGE rocks. After making a couple passes, I hit a monster rock. Around 300 lbs., 3 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 4 inches thick, and sitting about 10 inches below the ground. When I hit it, I was positive the ripper would have broken. NOPE! I raised it up and it's still strong as ever! This has destroyed any large or small roots that gets in it's path, many of them being thrown out of the trench. I had to make some small mods to my implement lift to use it, but nothing major. Overall, I am beyond impress with this trencher and already envision many more projects.

The Ripper was easy to assemble, parts are made well, and it works great. I'm using three of them ganged together to tear up potholes in my long gravel driveway, they have done a great job and none of them have broke yet.

This is a simple tool that I wished I had a long time ago! Multipurpose! Knock rocks out your way, trench, and use for breaking first ground for gardening. It’s held up for homestead uses.

Perfect tool for trenching cable or pulling out roots. Heavy duty in weight to get really down deep into the soil.

The implement is made out of heavy duty materials and works as expected. But, the receiver pin hole is drilled too close to the end. This is a design flaw that causes all of the pressure and torque of the blade to be exerted right on the very entrance lip of the receiver. In my case this caused the receiver sleeve to tear under heavy use. I welded on a new sleeve and then drilled a new hole further down the shaft allowing the shaft/bar to insert all the way through the receiver sleeve. This distributed the torque out over a larger area and now it works perfectly. If you buy this, do yourself a favor and drill a hole in the 2 inch bar much further down the bar if you plan on using it in heavy or clay soils.
