High germination and good shelf life
Germination rate was pretty good, just want to consider that each seed is one stalk of grass. Still, you get a lot of seeds for a low cost and can start a few bundles inside before moving it outside. So far the color is rich and beautiful, and the seed starters have gotten about a foot tall. Also, it stored in the shelf for a long time before I planted, and they still germinated.

Disappointing height
They sprouted easily and consistently. I had no problem getting them to 12-15” tall in a one gallon pot but then I transplanted them to my field in the fall, they came back in the spring but now it’s July and they haven’t grown much. I wanted at least 6’ they’re still less than 2’. Disappointing.

Braid and Save
This grass gets big, like 8’tall and floppy. Most of us avoid this plant because it’s big, it’s floppy and always looks like a mess. Who wants to plant a grass that’s tall, looks like a mess? Have you ever heard of “Grass Braiding”? Search some images and videos, they are all over. If you like to braid, save Native Species, grow something drought resistant, has fall color interest and has a story of history behind it? Maybe you would like to attract some birds to live in it. Yes, it’s floppy and big! If you like to braid, order this grass, grow art, save heritage, preserve a Native Species, grow a habitat and Buy This Seed.
