You can research it yourself, but nothing offers 100% protection. A particulate filter attached to a good mask is more effective than any surgical mask such as N95.

Can this filter also fit gost masks?

No, it's a 40mm NATO Filter. I tried it on my Polish MC-1, wouldn't fit.

Can this handle CS gas and similar irritants?

The most important thing is that you have the right filter for the occasion. With a strong irritant I would use a more specific set filter. More money but better protection.

is the straw used for remote air source,and does the mask come with english instructions?

There is no straw, you must be mistaking the cap/plug for a straw, it's just to keep the Filter sealed.
