I take a sleep medicine that had me eating in the middle of the night. I was so mad when I woke up and it was doing terrible things for my diet! I looked for refrigerated lockboxes to no avail. Well, what I found was small and would not hold what I needed Then I found this beautiful lock with its extension cable, which which I can wrap around the handles to the refrigerator and it works perfectly! I put snacks inside the refrigerator and you can set it by the minute by the hour or by the day and it is not possible to open it before the time is up! My son bought one as well to lock up his computer and cell phone phone so he doesn’t use it at night! The only thing I could think of that would be an improvement is the extension cable should be a thicker chain . I am not stupid enough to cut through the cable and waste my money, but I could see some people who could be more desperate would do so and I’m pretty sure you could cut through this cable pretty easily! For my needs, it’s absolutely perfect. It’s digital and requires charging by USB, but that’s not at all a problem for me — when I take it off the refrigerator in the morning I plug it in and then I take it off the charger at night to use it. I have not tested how long it last without being charged because it’s not a problem for me to charge daily! When the time is up, the lock literally pops open!

The other cheap plastic ones will break after a few uses, mine luckily failed in the open position and would not lock. I went out of my way finding one with a different design since most of them seem to use the same crappy chinese mechanism and controls. This one struck me as being totally different, and is! I have used it about a dozen times now for various applications and it has never failed to lock or open when it is supposed to. It is an an-metal design so the durability is way above the other cheaper plastic body ones. You can set up to a 99 day lock on this timer, I didn't see that in the description.

The lock is sturdy and very easy to use but it has a way to easy way to bypass the timer to unlock it (I am sure its for safety reasons) but it makes it pretty useless. If I was able to lock something and trust myself not to unlock it before a length of time I wouldn't need a timer lock...

This is a good lock with limitations. It functions as it lists. It will lock for days or hours at a time and is easy to set. It has a built in function to unlock 3 times when holding the lock button down for 10 seconds, after the 3 uses it will no longer unlock if held down. However, there is a pin sized hole to reset the device to factor setting that can easily be press with a safety pin. This will unlock the lock, and reset the 3 safety unlocks. That said, this is a great lock for adding a barrier of entry to habits you want to control. It will not prevent the customer from unlocking the lock. If you are purchasing this lock to KEEP YOU OUT NO MATTER WHAT, this is not the device to purchase. I would advise going with a more expensive option, such as a timed safe which are also on Amazon for around $200. This lock is a cheap option to add a barrier to entry, but not full proof denial. If that satisfies your needs its well worth the price.

After I retired I found great pleasure in a cocktail every afternoon at 4pm. Gradually it became two cocktails. Then 3. Then 4. I put this device around the handles on the liquor cabinet. Now, I cannot get into it. It is set to unlock at 6am every morning. At 6am my desire for a drink is zero, so it’s easy to reset for 24 hours. That precludes me opening the cabinet at 4pm. I leave it unlocked on Friday. I get one day. But now, after two drinks Friday, the lock goes back on the cabinet. What a great investment in my health!

This is an excellent product with great battery, value, and quality. I have been locking up my electronics at night with a modified toolbox and it helps keep me out until morning.

This is a great little unit. I wish I could give it 4.5/5. My only gripe is there's no indicator on the unit that tells you how charged it is. No blinking light when you charge it. Other than that, happy with the purchase!

Works well but easy bends out of shape

Easy to use, lots of settings, and looks modern. Howeve, it's really small, and doesnt' feel very secure. I fell like I could likly bend or pry it open using my hands alone, which given this price point, is very disappointing.
