Interesting insight into the world of tennis and Wimbledon Had trouble putting it down Review: An enjoyable read with good characters and interesting storyline - I admit, I got the book out of curiosity as itโs not at all the sort of book I usually read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a good read, entertaining and gave a great inside view of the tennis scene . Yet there was a seriousness, in showing how people can be manipulated as Abigail was by her tennis coach and the enormous effects it had, haunting her for years. And in the end it was quite uplifting. Judy Murray has turned her hand successfully to something very different. She is a woman of many talents.

a good read for tennis fans with some important messages
I admire anyone that can write a thought through, well-constructed, book and especially someone, like Judy Murray, who's already a super talent in a different field. I am also a massive tennis fan (especially of (her) son Andy) - both as a player and spectator - so had no option but to buy Wild Card! In summary, I enjoyed it. It is amusing at times although sometimes a bit too comical (for example Liv's break-dance celebrations - would she even be allowed to do this at Wimbledon?? But Judy will know better than me!) and a little predictable. But I like the overall message of never giving up hope and some of the issues (with coaches) that it highlights.

Fantastic, it had me gripped from the start!
This book has taken me in the world of tennis! Trying to read it whilst following Eastbourne was magic. Now I can enjoy Wimbledon with a better understanding, so thank you Judy I will appreciate it all so much more.

Ach well. Bit girly but I secretly liked it.
This is not my usual cuppa tea. Having said that the feminine slant of the book with it's romantic interludes was more than compensated for with good storytelling. It also gave an insight into the World of Wimbledon and tennis in general. I especially liked that the scenes of intimacy were vaguely downplayed. No Jilly Cooper stuff here. There was a hint of Jeffery Archer in the style of the book. No, it's a good thing. You could see the plot coming a mile away. The childhood sweetheart gets the girl. The baby was his. She would benefit more from losing than winning and the loss was more true. All predictable. Still it brought tears as comparisons of loss and love resonated personally. I probably will not return to future novels by Judy. Let's face it, it was one for the girls. Well done though.
