Snark, Spice, and Swoon—The Perfect Start to 2025!
PS You’re IntolerableBy Julia WolfOne of my Booksta buddies recommended PS You’re Intolerable by Julia Wolf, and wow, she nailed it with this one! I couldn’t have picked a better book to kick off 2025. Elliot and Catherine were such fun characters to follow—I loved their dynamic. So, Elliot is Catherine’s boss, and she’s not exactly his biggest fan at first. He’s all robotic and business-focused, and she’s over there making snarky handwritten notes about him that had me laughing out loud. But as they spend more time working together, you start to see there’s a lot more to him than meets the eye.Honestly, Elliot’s personality hit home for me. He’s super logical and level-headed, making all the tough business calls, even when it doesn’t make him the most popular guy in the office. Having been in management, I totally get that vibe—being the boss doesn’t mean people automatically like you.But back to Catherine—her wit and humor were everything! I was dying waiting for Elliot to find her notes because I had no clue how he’d react. Let’s just say, once he steps into her personal life, things get very interesting. The way he went from “no-nonsense boss” to a caring, supportive guy was so sweet. It was great to see Catherine finally catch a break, especially with everything she had going on.And when they finally give in to their feelings? Whew, Elliot is all in. He doesn’t care if Catherine’s pregnant, exhausted, or rocking the mom life—he is obsessed with her, and it shows. Let’s just say, the man has some very specific ideas about their future, and I was 100% swooning. If you’re into slight age gaps, single-mom pregnancy (not his), breeding/lactation kinks, or an MMC who surprises you by taking charge outside the office, this book is for you. Oh, and I listened to the audiobook too—Allie Piper and Alastair Haynesbridge nailed it. They really brought the characters to life!BookIG, TikTok, & Storygraph: @tequilamockingbirdladyGR profile: mvporter

Really good!
Oh man this book 😍 I loved it. I love a pregnancy trope and I love a plus size FMC so when I saw this book recommended I had to immediately go get it! I think my favorite thing about this book was the slow burn, it’s not insta love, the author built the relationship slowly but in such an entertaining way I was hooked. Elliot was my favorite kind of grumpy MMC. He started out as so indifferent and cold, then we get little glimpses of his soft side, until finally we see his heart of gold. Catherine was also such a likable and relatable FMC, especially when it came to her journey in motherhood. Oh and I can forget to mention the excellent spice, their chemistry together sooo good!

Best of the series - Only way Elliot would approve of it.
I knew I was going to like Elliot Levy, what I didn't expect was how quickly and utterly he would break down my own walls about him and sneak into my book boyfriend loving heart.Elliot is one of this author's quieter more reserved heroes. I've come to find that I seem to enjoy their books the most. The author has a way of gifting these characters with the small traits and slight tells that those with the quieter, more reserved, yet highly observant people in the world have. She writes both these personalities and all of their little nuances with such a poignant touch that it is impossible for the reader not to immediately crave more.Even Catherine (Kit) is easily read as a woman who is living two lives, in two worlds. Besides the use of the two distinct names to help separate her worlds she has gone so far as to create two separate personas. It's not an uncommon tactic for some people. I highly approved of the utilization of it in this book as it not only fit one of the main reasons people will create two personas; but it was also a bit of an equalizer between Kit and Elliot.Honestly there are so many things about this book that are so amazing, in so many large and small ways. It's the reason I keep coming back to this author and her works.I knew I was picking up an office romance with a boss and his assistant. Slightly naughty trope. Could go many different ways. The way it was written was that communication equality was built first between these two. While Elliot had all of his demands and persnickety needs. Catherine found ways to work her own outlet of frustrations and feelings in there to, and then tuck them away so she could move on. Elliot KNEW she was keeping thoughts from him, biting her tongue, holding back; yet he never pushed her on the "what" that they were.Elliot wanted Kit immediately in an almost claiming sense. Once he realized he couldn't have her in the way he preferred he went well out of his way to only notice the things he could allow himself to notice about her. Making sure that Kit never had a clue as to how much he was drawn to her. Until he physically couldn't. That was his breaking point. At that point he started to try to show how he cared. Then there was Elliot discovering Catherine's greatest held secret in the office. Honestly I think this is one of my favorite scenes in all of the books in this series. It was exactly what Elliot needed in order to shake loose from his stiffness, but it allowed his friends a chance to remind him that it's okay to let other humans in. The sky won't fall and the world won't end.Kit's small behaviors as she let herself learn to trust Elliot, but still needing the actions and his words. Those were the heartbreaking moments in this book for me. Reading through this strong woman who has felt so unwanted and cast aside by too many people in her life, so much so, that the ache of potential hurt stops her from speaking out and asking for what she needs. Gorgeously written. Flawlessly accurate. However the author has come to understand that level of fear and pain mixed into standing in front of something you want and need so badly yet not trusting it to not want or need you - I don't want to know, however the depictions on page are ruthlessly and beautifully written. There are some bigger parts of Elliot's back story that come into play in some of the turning points in this book, but you can read this as a stand alone. One of the things that is shared with readers in this book is how he raised his sister Elise once their parents had passed. Reading the scenes of Elliot caring for and interacting with Joey -- that was a love story that dripped off the page from the first minute he entered Catherine's house and found her on a play mat. That man was never going to not love that child. It shone in even the most casual of ways he interacted with her. The small light touches to her, the ease in which he just gifted her a new nickname. This was a seamless "we're a package deal" story. There was no hiding Elliot was in love with Jo even if he was struggling to identify exactly what his emotions were for Catherine. The third act rock bottom for this book was exactly what this story needed and was exactly what this couple needed. Throughout the building tension of their relationship and the stages that Elliot and Catherine were moving through no matter what they called it, they always seemed to meet each major milestone together on equal footing. This third act was no different and the very best way to be written for them. This book just had everything that I need in a really truly great read where I feel that all of the characters were are they are supposed to be, everything was handled precisely the way it was supposed to be......and I still want another 600 pages of Elliot Levy because that man has a MOUTH on him.Not to fear though.Miles has a book coming apparently. And Miles is allll sorts of surprises with each book he has party crashed so.....Game on Miles. You have a lot to live up to following Mr. Levy.
