Can these lights be used in outside soffits?

Dear customer, thanks for your inquiry. The waterproof rate of this lamp is IP44, it's dampproof but not waterproof. So it can be used outside, but please make sure it is not touched by water or rain.

Are these lights available in chrome

Dear customer, thanks for your question. We think you are asking question about the surface of the lamp body? We are sorry, this lamp we only have white lamp body. Our another recessed lamp has the metal color (nickel plated) lamp body. The link is https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BRHJV4D, https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07C2QV5LB

Can you lay insulation directly over these lights or do they need protection from insulation. The instructions do not mention insulation.

The reason manufactures don't want insulation over standard lights is that they can become very hot and possibly cause a fire -as there's nowhere for the heat from the lamp to go. LED's however give off very little heat. You could test it for yourself -but in my opinion, these lights wouldn't reach high temperatures even if left on for 24hours!... with lagging on them.

Will this fit a 7cm cavity?

Dear customer, thanks for your question. This product is 3 inch LED downlights, it is not compatible with ceiling hole in diameter 7CM. We recommend the smaller model, 2.5 inch 8W. Please read the product description on the sale page, you will see full series of LED downlights in our store. Thanks for your understanding.
