Does wild bird food by wagner's cause weeds to grow under feeder?

I do not have weeds under my tray feeder. However, I only put a handful of seeds in the tray feeder once a day. The birds usually eat all the seed - if seeds drop on the ground they are eaten by the birds.

Do house sparrows like this seed ? I hope not

Generally, sparrows are not big fans of safflower seed. I mix this with black oil sunflower seed and sunflower hearts and chips, which brings grosbeaks, cardinals, house finches, purple finches, flickers, and woodpeckers. Squirrels are also repelled by safflower seed and leave this feeder alone.

does it take a long time to be discovered? Nobody likes this stuff

The song birds like the safflower. I started using it because the blackbirds do not like it, and they were cleaning out my feeders quickly. The cardinals, house and chipping sparrows and several other species like the safflower.

Want to entice cardinals specifically. i use this & want to attract more cardinals. what other seeds can i add to attract cardinals specifically?

Cardinals do like sunflower seeds. The problem with these though, they attract squirrels and black birds. I use ONLY safflower seeds in my feeders. Hope this helps you!
