Don't Get Left Behind
I highly recommend this book. I bought both the E-Book and the hard copy. If you are a Strength and Conditioning Coach and have not read this, you are missing the boat on what I have seen as one of the most clear and concise books on these matters out there. After laying out the much material from other icons of S+C, Coach Deitz goes on to show his concept of Triphasic Training. He proudly stands on the shoulders of those great coaches and researchers before him, to full credit, then astonishingly explains his concepts. Where he leaves others behind is that he painstakingly gives example after example and explination after explination for the phases of training. To go a step further, the detail gets stretched out into multiple format options of days per week and specific sport examples. The links from the E-Book are priceless. Could it be better..yes! Mostly because so much information is crammed in and linked to. Have I seen anything even approaching it...NO!!! Mark my words, Coach Deitz will change the game like Verkhoshansky, Siff, Simmons, Issurin, Yessis, Bondarchuk, Bompa etc...

Awesome book
This is a great book, for the training knowledge which in my opinion is all that matters. However, its written like someone just sat down at a keyboard and hammered away as there are multiple errors in spelling etc. If that doesn't bother you, and it does not me so much, and you're interested in the information, just buy this book!

Not for beginners
I will preface this by saying I'm a dedicated meathead. Although not a part of my collegiate studies, I have attained some training certificates and am in the field of exercise. That being said, this book was initially over my head. I read, then re-read most of the book. Definitely not or the beginner looking to start out. However, once getting some background and conversing with other professionals in the field, I found the book to be extremely insightful and easy to apply.I would recommend this to people with a bit more experience than someone reading muscle and fitness.

A systematic approach to elite speed and explosive strength performance
Profoundly inciteful ...comprehensive..must reading for those striving to become an explosive, elite athlete. The authors detail unique ways of executing the eccentric, isometric, and concentric phases of strength training as applied to optimized, undulating blocks. There are several links to downloadable highly detailed workout programs. I suspect Triphasic Training will become the standard for serious athletes. I wish the digital copy was free to those who purchased the hard copy of the book.

Triphasic Training by Cal Dietz
I saw Cal Dietz at a NSCA hockey conference and he talked about his Triphasic System for training athletes. I am a Strength & Conditioning Coach and own my own Training Center. This book is a must have for your library if you are in this field. Book is very well done with a lot of practical and useful information. Great read!

Worth a read
Looks at strength training in a different perspective than most other training books out there. Its not about programing ones squat, bench and deads to see an x amount increase in y amount of weeks like other books out there (which definitely have there place and have worked for me). Triphasic presents known eastern European techniques, and shows how the author incorporates them into his athlete's training. Worth a read to anyone looking to expand their training knowledge and practical application of such techniques. Not the be all end all by any means but does contain useful info.

Cal Dietz is the real deal. I've listened to him speak on a number of podcasts and followed his published articles for years. The man knows his training systems. I've begun using his Triphasic Training systems with my high school track program during our off-season training after feeling like we'd been stuck in a bit of a rut lately. The adaptations are coming quickly and the athletes have responded positively to the fresh stimuli. A highly recommended read.
