While it wasn't the cleanest system, it had the most color and attracted people from all over the world. Tod Lange, artist and subway archivist, presents more than 150 images of his favorite train lines, graffiti painted cars, stations, subway yards, and work equipment that defined one of New York's bygone eras. It may have been a scary and dangerous place to some but it was home to millions.
