This product does not determine the gloss of the finish. That's exclusively determined by how polished the metal is before application.

Is there anywhere to buy just the bluing applicators?

You can find the bluing applicators on amazon how ever, you must strip and prep the metal of any substantial amount of surface in order for the job to turn out right.

Do you think there is enough product to do an old double barrel 12 guage?

Yes, there is more than enough material to do an old double barrel 12 gauge. Just take care to follow the instructions and strip/sand/steel-wool the metal down to flawless as much as possible before application.
