Needed more airflow for our medicinal gardening room. I grow in an open room with a fan in the window. Our latest crop was odiferous and outdid our 190cfm cyclone fan. I searched Amazon and found this 10 inch that pulls 900 ish cfm. What a difference. Since the room has all hvac shut off, not much air circulates and the lights heat the room to about 75 degrees in winter. Summer is about 15 degrees higher. With this fan in the window, the cfm output is high enough to draw in the cool air from the door cracks without letting the odors out. Yeah, it is loud but its high cfm so... worth it. Running continuously. Last fan ran for 6 years and still functions well. Will report back if it fails. Update a few days later. Yes this fan rips. Yes it keeps the smells of my garden out of our house. We grow legally so stealth is not a concern. However, my neighbor complained about the sound. Mind you we are not that closely housed. Her home is about 60 yards away and I had mounted it with no ductwork to an exterior window. I went to the hardware store and purchased 25 feet of insulated 10" duct hose. I moved the fan into a box (cardboard amazon reused for testing). I ran the duct hose in a snaking pattern to the window with a cheap 10" flange to mount at the window and placed the fan inside the room. I ran the duct hose through the box and used leftover foam from packaging inside the box to add sound deadening. Inside the room the fan is still at 80 decibels but at the window you cannot hear it at all outside even standing next to it. It still pushes a ton of air but now quietly. So if you want high flow and stealth, this is your fan. You just have to do a few extra steps.

Looks small but works big. Out it in my Arizona Room to draw air through and it’s doing as I hoped it would. Easy install. Works great. Painted the wood and filled both sides in before I took another picture.

1. Is outside trim , ring or a hood available for this 10 inch fan to complete the installation at the wall opening ? Looks rough without it ! It would need min. 5 " depth clearance for the fan's damper if it was a hooded. 2. Are any covers available for this 10 inch fan for the inside or the outside to keep the heat or A/C from escaping the house since the fan is mounted in a kitchen wall , when not in use ? The damper is not enough. 3.You could improve on the cord's exit through the front of the fan without having to customize it by me. Going out the back is a bad design. 4. It's louder than I thought but it does move the air. Not bad for the money if it lasts. 5. What is the amp draw on this fan motor ?

In use immediately and added a Digten variable speed control that is working perfectly, pull cold floor air out of a former garage space into an adjacent crawl space to even out heat for the winter. Actually working simultaneously with an infrared heater in conjunction with a plug-in thermostat. Excellent.

Very strong exhaust fan that moves A LOT of air, but at the same time it is VERY loud. Installation was easy and the power cord is pretty long with an on/off switch. Won't buy again due to the noise coming from the fan when it is running.

I am exhausting the hot air from a garage. This thing is powerful and for the amount of air expelled, very quiet.

Worked good and quietly for about 8 months. its completely seized up and non-functional now. Was setup to cool an IT room that is already decently cooled, but this was just for exhaust for the high ceiling. Would not purchase again.

Awesome little fan . I bbq in the garage when it's cold outside, clears it out pretty good . Its not a quiet fan as expected. Not sure why some reviews say its not loud. It moves a lot of air therefore it makes a bit of noise. Make sure the fan nut is tight, mine came loose .test run it before installing. Overall happy with it

Un autre point negatif est le clapet anti-retour qui ne ferme pas tres bien donc peu utile pour empecher mouches et moustiques de passer. Pour un atelier ou un garage ca peut aller mais pour la maison je vous conseil de choisir quelquechose de mieux adapte. HG Power 10" exhaust fan Too noisy for a home environment, you can't hear yourself talking. I bought a speed control to reduce the speed, which makes it acceptable to use. Another negative point is the back flap doesn't close very well, so it's not very useful for keeping flies and mosquitoes out. It's fine for a workshop or garage, but for home use, I recommend choosing something more suitable.
