For your consideration: My 2 cents on the LEGO Ideas The Insect Collection. My Lego-obsessed teenage daughter bought this while I was on vacay and assembled it in 2 nights. So, here's the buzz about this bug-tastic adventure! First: The Blue Morpho Butterfly. It’s like having a tiny entomologist's dream on your shelf. Those wings with their fancy blue shades and cute white dots? LEGO made this butterfly look like it's ready to fly away – but don't worry; it won't. Plus, it comes with a honeybee and a flower because every butterfly needs a little bumblebee bestie! Next: The Hercules Beetle. This thing is big, like "I'm-going-to-need-a-bigger-shelf" big. You can even attach wings to it, just in case it decides it wants to fly, but we all know beetles are more into crawling. And those horns? It's like the bug version of having a snazzy set of antlers. While it may seem a little creepy, it’s actually adorable. And he comes off of his little perch! Last but not least: The Chinese Mantis - the Praying Mantis with a bit of a diva attitude. This model is so detailed; you might start worrying it will start bossing around the other LEGO sets. It even comes with a 7-spotted ladybug sidekick because even mantises need a trusty sidekick, right? I have to say, the Mantis is my personal fave! You ever wonder what in the world you should buy your folks for Christmas? Completely lost at what would be the perfect gift. Well, let me tell you. This Lego set is the perfect Christmas gift. Even for parents in their 60's. I wanted to my parents to feel young and youthful again, and this set really helped do that. Very fun activity we were able to all do as a family. Each bug comes in its own little package so the parts don't get mixed or confusing. Each one comes with it's own little booklet too, so a family of 3 can easily all sit around the kitchen table and work on these together like me and my family did! Each bug has its own complexities in building but they weren't too hard! (the beetle was mildly challenging) I feel like anyone above 12 could easily put these sets together. (but it would be frustrating for younger children, and possibly elders with seeing issues as the parts are TINY! (12-70 year age range id say give or take depending on the person). Once they are built these little suckers are super sturdy! They make very cute little statues in the office or on a bookshelf on display. Definitely recommend getting your parents legos for Christmas! You won't regret it!

Great product, bust Legos I have worked with. Good size, makes impressive display. Enjoyed the build and the results. Only issue was setting of insects a bit sparce. I bought the Lego Daisy collection and added them to the background for fuller effect (use your imagination). Wish Lego had more like this, say a 4 seasons collection.

Gave this to my adult son and he loved them. He’s a huge lover of Beatles! Purchase this on sale - they were much less than in the stores. Amazon has great prices for Legos

These were the perfect Gifts for a Female

This was one of my favourite LEGO sets to build so far! Really clever use of some regular pieces and a few custom ones just for this set. Each insect is built using 2-3 bags and has its own instruction booklet, so you could definitely build them in parallel with someone else as a group activity. The finished models are larger than I expected and very eye-catching: as display models they have such rich colours that they look great separate or together. Mine are currently on my large coffee table as I enjoy seeing them so much! Given the lower price relative to a lot of the LEGO Ideas sets, and how much fun they are to build and look at, I recommend this set for anyone! Would make a great gift too. * Note: it's not made super clear in the instruction booklet, but the beetle's orange wings can be easily removed and it's yellow shell (I'm sure that's not the right word 😅) will then close over it's body. I prefer the wings out, but the choice is yours!
