Renna, Octopus preserved in oil

Excellent flavor and very tender, not at all fishy. Great "meze" salad topper with crostini.

Low quality the mixture in which it is in lowers the quality The octopus and squid texture, even after rinsing it taste flat. Not ferm at all.

I was a little concerned about ordering expensive seafood in glass jars but it was for nothing. The jars come in their own little boxes, which protects them very well against breakage. The contents are clean and look very appealing to me. I'm making kimchi and thought these would be good addition in the recipe. Hope it turns out well. Haven't tasted them yet but coming from Italy, I'm sure they will be quite delicious.

It's something different compared to shrimp, salmon or crab it's a whole different experience on its own. I had never tried octopus before and thought it'd be cool to try some canned octopus due to a lack of any in restaurants. I received my package on a hot afternoon but didn't think it'd have much affect on the product due to its sealed contents but it still had a somewhat stingy taste. I left it to refrigerate overnight and it still has that sting so I'll chalk it up to the taste of sunflower oil. It was a pleasant new experience but I wished it had a better taste.

I found these to be just okay,not quite what I expected. They have a very strong vinegar taste. Others may like them but I won't be ordering again.

I ordered this so we could see how it would do on our grill. When it was delivered the liquid inside the jar was super cloudy and the leg pieces were broken up and not quite intact anymore. When I opened it and grabbed a few pieces to pull out of the jar, they instantly broke apart and were super slimy. It was like trying to grab jello that wasn’t completely set yet and the smell was TERRIBLE like a rotten tangy fishy smell. We threw it away sadly.

Beware, this product does not resemble the photo. I was expecting firm Italian octopus tentacles. Instead, I received a jar of desiccated chunks, rendered soft and spongy in pink brine. I grilled and seasoned it with lemon, oregano, red wine vinegar and copious amounts of pepper. For all my efforts, it still tasted and smelled fishy. Pass.

Octopus is really great tasting especially this brand. Well presented.
