Q: This game can be played by a 8 years old boy?

I think it would depend upon the boy. I know an eight year old boy who could play it very successfully. You could certainly try it. It is a very good game, suitable for most ages.

I do not have a Windows 8 but I was trying to read the small print on the box and I do not see anything about Windows 8.1. Q: Will this work with ma mac catalina?

No. Mac stopped 32 bit with on of their latest updates and unless the game has 64 bit capabilities it will not work.
