Çay (Tschai) is the national drink of the Turks.It is not simply prepared with tea bags.You don't do that.No, it's an art, a celebration and a pleasure.The tea in its pure form, i.e. loose, is filled into the small teapot.Just as much as you want.Put the water in the large teapot and let it boil on high heat.Fill some boiling water into the upper (small) teapot to briefly wash the tea.In this way, you remove impurities from loose tea.
Now the small teapot is filled with hot, boiling water so that the tea can be infused.The temperature is turned down so that the water remains just hot.The tea infuses for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Now the pure, strong tea can be poured into the typical Turkish tea glasses according to your taste.On top of these comes the hot water.And you're done.Afiyet Olsun.By the way, there's no wrong time for tea.
