Introduction to Sociology 2e

This book was required for Sociology class. I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy reading this!The only negative is that a few paragraphs here and there don't match the online book from the publishers site. It's not a huge deal, either this one or the other is a newer version.

This book is awesome! It gives you insight into today's society and the different theories that make up how we view society. It really gives you a different outlook on life and shapes your perspectives of what you already believe, but at the same time challenges your thinking about EVERYTHING!!! You'll constantly ask yourself WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY & HOW! It can be a really great conversation piece to spark and challenge your thinking and ideas of our society!

I bought the textbook new from Amazon, thankfully at a reasonable price, because I just couldn't stand staring at the computer screen for hours and hours a day. I prefer being able to highlight and turn real pages.If this book is the book your class is using. It is a broad spectrum of overviews into sociology and what the science of sociology is and how those factors are around us every day. I'm enjoying the book, the chapters are reasonable in length (18-22 pages) and they really tried to make this a true introduction to the topic so you can easily grasp the concept.

This book is not a textbook. It will further damage the struggling image of social sciences to be taken seriously as legitimate science. This is the authors own perspective with cherry-picked referencing and opinions to support a politically correct agenda. Perhaps education has always had a hidden agenda. Now there seems to be no attempt to even hide that agenda. Now it is why let fact get in the way of a political agenda. The silent majority needs to wake up. The radical few are pushing a very dangerous agenda on children in the name of education. Education is not politics it should teach basic agreed facts for the younger generations to build a solid base to go out in the world and be a gift to the world, not terminal cancer.
