The TP-Link Tapo C225 is an impressive 2K QHD pan/tilt camera that has exceeded my expectations in every way. The image quality is outstanding with crisp, clear footage both day and night thanks to the excellent color night vision feature. I love the Apple HomeKit integration which makes it seamlessly fit into my existing smart home ecosystem alongside my other HomeKit devices. The pan and tilt functionality combined with AI motion tracking means the camera automatically follows movement, which is perfect for monitoring my pets and keeping an eye on the front door. The physical privacy mode is a great feature that gives me peace of mind when I don't want the camera active. Setup was straightforward through the Tapo app, and the two-way audio works well for communicating through the camera. Great camera for $40! It has rtsp capabilities so I can stream it nonstop from OBS if I wanted to. Good quality and good night time quality as well. Ive been using it to check on my foster kitten while I work. 100% worth the buy. Easy to setup and has stayed connective ever since I set it up. No drops or laggy-ness.

The Tapo C225 camera is by far the best camera I’ve ever purchased—simple, hassle-free, and incredibly easy to install. Its ceiling-mount system is brilliantly designed: it’s extremely easy to attach and remove, and you can reinstall it just as effortlessly if needed. It offers a wide range of features, a very responsive interface, and excellent image quality. What really surprised me at this price point is how advanced the technology is—especially for smart home projects. One of its most impressive features, which even many high-end cameras lack, is the ability to work with both RTSP and HomeKit Secure Video simultaneously. Tapo got this absolutely right. The camera receives regular updates, and if you prefer to work exclusively within the Apple ecosystem, it supports facial recognition, live streaming, and iCloud recording through HomeKit. If you’re looking for a camera with full native HomeKit support at a great price, this is the best option out there. It also integrates perfectly with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Home Assistant. I originally bought it just to test it out, but it completely exceeded my expectations. Tapo delivers great quality at an amazing price. I truly hope they release more models like this with native HomeKit compatibility.

This exceeded my expectations. Setup was fast and easy through the Tapo app, and it connected to tplink app without a hitch. The video quality is impressively clear, both during the day and at night. A great security camera. Some of the standout features: super easy setup. Low lag and small size, easy to use and a feature I wasn’t even aware it had, when it detects movement it can track the subject automatically! It also has a private mode that you can automate when you arrive home and disable when you leave using a geofence. This physically positions the camera lens straight down that shows the folks in the room it’s disabled. Leave the house and it’s back up and patrolling. Very cool tech with high res 4k. Excellent value for the money!

I looked at quite a few security cameras for indoor use; I had originally heard that Wyze were the best, but I was pointed towards these since they're made by TP-Link, and so far it hasn't disappointed! The pet detection is likely slightly better for dogs than cats, but overall it works great and I havent had any connection issues. The camera/picture quality is as advertised, which seems rare for cameras these days, the HDR is AMAZING compared to the normal mode I have to say, even if it does warm up the camera a bit. The night vision is great, it's easily switchable between the unnoticeable 950nm IR and the definitely-noticeable 800nm, which shows as a bright red light, and it tracks anything you want it to, pretty much. As soon as I set it to auto tracking, it was following me around as I moved across its view. It does seem to have an issue noticing my cat as a cat since she's small, but it does notice her after a bit. The point was more so to make sure she's undisturbed by people though, and the people-tracking works great along with the audio! If I need another camera, even just for simple monitoring or the other cats, I'll be getting another of these.
