The scent and it's exfoliating are "bar" none!
I gotta admit something. I never used anything designed specifically for my face/beard. I've always used just body washes and the like for my whole body and face. That changes today. You can totally feel a difference when you use an exfoliating soap, and this one has become my absolute favorite. My girlfriend LOVES the smell on me, and the design of the bar is very fancy. The soap is very simple to use as well: You can either rub up a lather in your hands, then proceed to rub the foamy soap onto your skin, or do what I like to do, and take the whole bar, and scrub it into your face. There is a generous amount of grit to the soap, that you can really feel it opening up your pores and scrubbing away the dead skin and oils. Those walnut shells they pack into the soap truly make the difference. This is going to be my go to face soap going forward. The picture I took is after one use in the shower. I really want people to see how much grit is in the soap.

You pay for what you get!
Product seems to be working for me. Since my use I've received several compliments in how my face skin appearance has cleared up and has a glow. I now have a daily routine with my face. I was very skeptical at first investing into products that are more expensive than most. But the reward has been beneficial.

Has a fresh clean scent
The soap had a fresh clean scent. I thought design was pretty cool. The soap said deep scrub but the bar was pretty smooth. I didn't feel or see any exfoliating bits. The soap had a good lather and washed out cleanly. It did dry out my skin but nothing a dab of lotion can't fix. My skin felt clean and refreshed.

Charcoal face bar with grit!
I ordered the "Face Bar" version of this Lumin Men's soap - the one with the triangle on it. The sleek monotone look is very rock n' roll, it's giving Pink Floyd / Dark Side of the Moon vibes. The bar arrived plastic-wrapped inside its box, which was disappointing - I've received so many soap bars that are plastic-free. Maybe this one needs extra protection from moisture because of the walnut shell powder? But it feels very wasteful. :-( But back to the walnut shell powder - this soap has some GRIT! The side with the white triangle is the "smooth" side of the bar and feels like every other charcoal soap I've ever used, with very gentle exfoliation. The back side of the bar is solid black and it's the scrubber side of the bar - it's very coarse and rough and will definitely slough some of your skin off if you press too hard! The bar has a mild pleasant scent and, while it's definitely not the most moisturizing soap I've ever used, it doesn't dry my skin out excessively either. It's a really nice (albeit pricey) cool-looking bar of soap and a scrub all-in-one!

So much hype for a bar of soap
It's soap. Okay, they added some cheap abrasives (charcoal powder, nut shells), but it's still just soap. What this seller has added is a tremendous amount of hype and an over-the-top distracting design. So, it looks cool, or depending on your opinion, just weird. I look at this product as a something to give humorously as a gag or novelty gift. Its only value in my opinion is in the added hype, so it's not something to buy for yourself, or to buy more than once, but as a gag gift, it seems like a fun option. The seller photo that I thought especially funny is the one where a guy is using it on his cheeks after shaving - like the skin of his cheeks aren't 'exfoliated' enough from his razor!

Seems best for non-sensitive skin.
This is the weightiest bar of soap for its size that I've ever "met". Has a unique look, in black and white. Ingredients include walnut shell particles, which IMO give a very rough exfoliating effect that can be a bit harsh for some skin types. I find it more appropriate for use on the body than the face. I'm not familiar with charcoal, white or black, as a skin care ingredient, but theoretically it draws/absorbs oil, etc. It has a pleasant, light scent. Lathers fairly well, but takes some time to fully rinse it off. It's tempting to rub it directly on the skin -- kind of a soap/loofah combo -- but you should probably declare it Yours, not to be Shared, if you do. As far as matching the description -- no complaints.

Nice but not overpowering scent, works well, nice presentation
The first thing I noticed about this soap was the "tuxedo" design. It really is eye catching. Secondly, it has a nice scent but not one that is overpowering. The scent is listed as, "fragrance", and when listed like that it is generally a chemical compound for scent. Strong soap scents can give me headaches, and this is somewhere in the middle of the strength of scent. The soap is effective at gentle exfoliation. It lathers but not wildly foaming. Some of the ingredients are not ones that I prefer, glycerin, titanium dioxide, diproplyene glycol... Made in Taiwan. Received 11/23, Best by 8/26. Use within 12m of opening.

Looks great, Smells great, and most importantly does a good job - even on sensitive skin.
The Lumin deep scrub face bar came in a small box. When opening the box you are presented with a cuboid shaped block wrapped in a protective plastic. When wrapped you could smell a pleasant smell, and as the wrapper was removed the aroma intensified. Despite the strong aroma it did dissipate after a few minutes, so was not overwhelming. Before using the bar it has a nice feel in the hand, and looks excellent with its crisp black and inset white triangle. Obviously the appearance of the bar is not all that important, but it is appealing and looks much better than your typical bar of soap. (and I don't mind it remaining out on display in my soap dish!) The black surface feels abrasive, and the white inset triangle has a much softer and smoother feel. As you wet the bar and start to form a lather you can better feel the abrasive characteristic of the black soap. I have very sensitive skin and found that I wouldnโt want to rub for long, however, with that said it only took a small amount of time to make a noticeable impact on the softness of my skin, and I can only assume the white moisturizer helped on that front. Obviously one โtreatmentโ will not make a meaningful difference, but after using the bar for about one week I do notice a real difference in the feel of my skin. I was concerned that the black colour would show on my skin and perhaps even leave a residue โ this was simply not the case. You will see in one photo that the lather is not too black and the product is very easy to rinse away. I did not use the white section specifically against my skin, but it seems to contribute to the overall lather, and when the side with the white insert was rubbed directly on the skin it was less rough - so was good for more sensitive areas. One week in and there is very little wearing down of the bar, it clearly will last a good long time. Overall Verdict? Nice smell, works well to exfoliate and seems to have left my face softer. I recommend this product.

I like it but it it has it's flaws
These Lumin soaps are pretty interesting for including two different bars into one, and making them in specific shape so that you know which product is for hair (round), which one is for face (square), and which one is for body (rectangle). All this is really smart. They also frankly smell great! They do lather pretty well, and because they are quite well moisturizing the cleaning performance isn't aggressive enough to get rid of all the oils and sebum secreted but most of the time only really specific problem areas need a second wash, so that's pretty impressive given how well they moisturize. When I say they are two bars combined together is because the black and the white portions are different: the black bar has a grittier texture for scrubbing while the while part has more of a moisturizing function. Both are soaps but the white part is the main soapy bit, or at least the one that behaves most like soap. The problem I find is that the two materials do not wear down at the same pace, and they don't necessarily come flush from production either. When it comes to the black scrubber part, the face bar and the body bar seem to have similar heavy grits which I find work great in some parts of the body but others it feels a bit too aggressive, the hair bar's scrubber is a very fine grit that does not damage the hair. In general I've found the white part to go out quite a bit quicker than the scrub. In the case of the face bar and the hair bar, because our head has a lot more convex curves/shapes the center definitely wears out more quickly. On the hair car that means the black part wears out a bit quicker and on the face bar it means the white part definitely wears out quicker and you are left scraping your face with a square with a triangle donut hole. The body bar suffers less of this due to having to deal with larger surfaces as well as both convex and concave shapes, the natural tendency of the white part of the soap wearing out quicker means it leaves you with an aggressive scrub that protrudes. So although I do enjoy these overall I find this idea and implementation to be a little bit difficult to use often times. It is also fairly expensive but at least the soap does otherwise perform pretty well and the smell is really enjoyable too! I just think that the scrub on the face and body bars could be a little bit finer since in my experience some of the more sensitive parts of the skin does find it a little too rough to use comfortably.

Not a substitute for the charcoal face wash...
I was a daily user of the Lumin charcoal face wash, and very pleased with it, until it became unavailable, unless purchased as part of a $170 three pack containing two other products I did not need. So, I tried this Lumin soap, it is awkward and inconvenient and not a workable substitute for the face wash. This is unfortunate as I was very happy with the former product before Lumin bundled it out of affordability for the average consumer. I am left with no other option than to go back to Clinique for a charcoal face wash, despite being more expensive, at least they are consistent with their product offerings and don't try to force me to purchase a bundle.

Activated charcoal and exfolient face soap ... works very well with oily skin
Lumin - Deep Scrub Face Bar for Men - Charcoal Exfoliating Face, Oily Skin, Break-out Prone & Rough Skin, Unclog Pores, Eco-Friendly Skincare, No Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates, or Animal Testing, Daily Use 4.75* $9.99 Giftable. Part of a range that consists of deep cleanse shampoo, deep scrub face bar and deep cleanse and scrub body bar. This is the dual-texture soap bar incorporating activated charcoal and walnut shell powder scrub, in order to deep cleanse, exfoliate and make the skin look and feel smoother. This is great for oily skin. It Iathers fairly copiously and it smells nice whilst it's doing its job. The exfolient part is initially quite rough so care is required to ensure that the faces more sensitive skin isn't damaged. People with smaller hands may initially find the bar difficult to wield, particularly when wet, as it is a larger, square shaped bar. On the whole, skin feels refreshed after usage, without the sometimes soapy dryness that can occur. This may not be the case if you don't have oily skin... I suspect that the soap could be quite drying for other skin types. Very much a matter of personal taste and skin type. I quite enjoy using it and it works for me. Try some.

Detoxifies and deep clean.
This Lumin - Deep Scrub Face Bar for Men and feels dense and weighs 140g. It contains black charcoal that detoxifies and purifies the skin. It also contains activated white charcoal that hydrates and moisturizes the skin. It has no scent that I can sense It can also be used for the hair as well. It does lather well on my oily face and I can feel the deep cleaning penetration. I feel some granulated material when I lather, which is probably the fine charcoal bits. My skin feels somewhat dry, but I always put on a serum and moisturizer after washing my face. I would probably use the soap every other day to detox.
