Marker Kits - Organize Your Way to Beautiful and Enjoyable Creativity
I am very happy with the Shuttle Art Pastel Markers set of 50 plus blender tool. I have read many reviews of other markers. I have a few suggestions. 1) Before applying color, I paper clip a heavy "backing" board to the drawing or purchase a coloring book with black backings to the drawings. It works -- either way -- keeping the bleed through in place. Yes, there is a bleed through when a design is on plain paper. This can be an advantage -- the colors usually dry fast enough so I can turn the sheet over and in pencil mark the code number beside each color for future reference. 2) I have no problems with bleeding -- when ready to apply color, I use a FEATHER touch, barely making contact with the paper and keep that "no pressure" throughout. 3) Yes, as a rule, the cap colors DO NOT match the actual application color. Shuttle Art solves this problem by providing preprinted, stiff swatch samplers with name and cap number printed below a small rectangle. I take each color and lay down a small patch. Grouping the swatches by color (greens, blues, reds, yellows, etc.) I reorder the colors in ascending (or descending) color within each color group, placing a small penciled number (1-5, e.g.) next to each rectangle so I can easily transfer them as described in Step #4. 4) Then on a separate 3" x 4", semi heavy board of my own, I create my own ordered Master Set of Swatches -- cap #, name and actual color. 5) This may sound like a lot of work, but not really. When I'm ready to do an intricate design, for instance, all I have to do is go to my own Master Swatch boards and pick out the color by #. Then go to the Shuttle's handy holder and, because I have re-ordered the colors by NUMBER (not color), I can easily grab the color I want. I can also take these master swatches I've created and hold next to other master swatches to see how the colors would look together -- before even applying. This procedure is an incredible TIME SAVER when I'm ready to color and ensures about as accurate a result as I can expect for the artistic tool I have purchased. One Word of CAUTION: by nature, I am hyper sensitive to odors. The cover of the box does say Non-Toxic, Low-Odor. After 10 minutes of close work, I began to get a mild headache. Solution: I used a small table fan and had it blow -- NOT ACROSS THE DRAWING -- but across my face. It worked beautifully as I colored for a good 45" non-stop. It is really fun to use these markers and any other marker kits, for that matter, when first ORGANIZING the colors. I have yet to explore "blending!" Good luck to you all!

Good for the price, good for beginners
I’ve been wanting a set of alcohol markers for quite some time now. I should’ve known to just spring for the more expensive brand. Those ohuhus haunt my dreams, but I had never used alcohol markers until a few minutes ago and the price tag is steep. I will say that the way these ones feel as they glide across the page is fantastic, it makes me want to get the Ohuhu markers even more! But this set has several drawbacks in my opinion. First of all, that case collapses and will spill markers everywhere, which is annoying but not a dealbreaker. My main problem is the colors being so far off from what the cap color is. They just aren’t the same color at all. I did get the pastel set, so colors will be softer, but I was a little taken aback by some of the differences. Some of the markers are also a little extra wet and will dribble their juice all over, something that’s never acceptable in my house. I also had one that is already super dry, and all I have done so far is color the swatches that were included. So there’s no accuracy and markers aren’t going to last long it seems, if some are already drying out. The price is good, but you also kinda get what you pay for, so don’t expect much. I will say that if you color a lot of portraits there are some great skin tones for caucasians in the pastel set, but it does not allow for any diversity in that department. Funny thing is, the marker named “Flesh” is very much NOT a flesh color. Overall these markers are “meh” and I will definitely be investing in a better quality soon. EDIT : After trying a LOT of different brands of alcohol markers, all over the scale of price points, I’ve gotta say these aren’t too bad. Now that I have a really good amount of markers to compare, these might be my top choice for the cheaper brands. I have all the Ohuhu and some Copic markers and of course these are the best, but they also will cost you your first born child if you want complete sets, particularly Copic (just go for Ohuhu, I prefer them over my Copic markers). For a beginner set, just testing the waters, these are actually great. Definitely swatch put the colors for reference because caps never match witch alcohol markers. I’ve learned that this is due to the dye used and it simply does not work on the plastic caps the same as it does on paper. I feel bad for my original review, it was coming from a place of inexperience

Great markers – not washable!
Some friends had alcohol markers and then we had to get some and these markers seem high-quality my kids really like using them for art projects! You have to store them lying sideways, and the storage box indicates how to do that properly. The storage box is really nice and there is a color key included, which is also really helpful. The markers are not washable and if they get on the table, I do not know how to get them off. My dining room table has quite a bit of “patina” on it now. Once I discovered that I could not clean the marker off of the table now we use plastic art trays to protect it. This was our first experience using alcohol markers, and I should’ve put in a little more research before using them. The colors are vibrant and look really great.

Incredible
These markers are sooooo satisfying!!! Easily the best I’ve ever used. Colors are beautiful, and the box includes a great range of colors. I love that the box comes with a card to color swatch all the colors because you’ll definitely want to do that. The box also says to store it sideways so that the ends don’t dry out! Also you’re gonna want to put something underneath whatever you’re coloring because they’re very wet and will bleed through. Overall very satisfied and great price for the money.

Not OVERLY amazing, but great for what you’re paying
I recently bought these about a month ago, my fiance and I have recently taken up coloring together and love to do it to unwind and relax. Some of the more used colors are starting to dry out a little bit (the sky blue color, etc..) there’s nothing super extravagant about them, they do what they’re supposed to and the streakiness is better than some markers I tried from a big craft store we had bought markers from. I would like to say that the box we received was ripped on each corner, I’m not sure if this was a shipping issue or if someone maybe returned them and we received a used box. There’s a wide variety of colors and I can appreciate that. The thickness of the tips is nice and they’re sort of flexible. I LOVE the fact that it comes with swatches. Helps me find the color I’m envisioning of using. The colors on the markers themselves are not accurate so using the swatches helps a lot. The caps, specifically the part that has the name and color swatch on it, keeps popping off. Not a super big issue, I usually pop them back on. But overall they’re decent, but not super amazing.

Good markers
As a beginner and casual colorist, the markers are easy to use and enjoyable. Please note that if you are buying these to supplement the original 51 pack, there three duplicate colors: 9 - Pale Pink, 38 - Pale Yellow, and BG1 - Blue Gray.

Super Stifte
Sehr gute Alkoholfarben . Lassen sich super verblenden und auf Colorationspapier auftragen. Die Farben sind kräftig und bleichen auch nach dem Trocknen nicht aus.

Great pens!
First impressions: these pens are amazing! I've been waiting for Ohuhu pastels to be in stock with no luck so thought I'd try these. The colours are beautiful and probably the closest to the colour description I've tried so far. They dry quickly, obviously there's bleed through but they do come with a little bleed proof sheet. The nibs are soft but don't look like they'll fray unlike other brands I've tried. I can't speak for how long they last as of yet but will update. Definitely worth the money in my opinion and a great alternative to more expensive brands.
