This serum is amazing if your skin barrier needs support. It feels very lightweight, absorbs quickly, and layers beautifully with the rest of my skincare without pilling. I’ve noticed my skin feels more elastic, calmer, and less irritated, especially on days after using actives like retinol. It doesn’t have a strong scent, which I personally appreciate since my skin can be sensitive. Application is very easy, the dropper works well and the texture spreads smoothly without feeling sticky or heavy. For the price, the quality is excellent. You’re getting a soothing, barrier-support formula that truly works without being expensive. Definitely recommend, especially if you’re looking for something lightweight that dries quickly and supports skin recovery.

I've just discovered The Ordinary line of skin care prods. I'm starting with 4 items, including this serum. My face drinks this stuff up fast. It only takes 2 drops and that includes my neck. I have less redness, and a much smoother texture. This is making the moisturizer soak in better. Each of the 4 items are not just good but outstanding! They're doing what they claim and the price is crazy low for this level of quality.

The product claims it helps recover the skin barrier in 2 hours, and while I can’t say I timed it exactly, I definitely noticed my skin feeling calmer and less angry within hours of my first application. The redness that usually flares up after cleansing was noticeably reduced. The texture is lightweight and absorbs beautifully without any stickiness. Since it’s fragrance-free, there’s no scent at all, which is perfect for my sensitive skin. I use it both morning and evening as directed – just a few drops go a long way. The hydration boost is real too. My skin feels plump and moisturized all day, which has been a game-changer during these colder months. I have extremely sensitive skin, and when I say that, I really mean it. I have gone through so many products that I’ve had to either give away or throw out because they give me hives or contact dermatitis. I also struggle a lot with skin redness, dryness, and texture issues. I have EDS (if you know, you know) which also causes me issues with my skin. I’m also very sensitive to scents. This product has been amazing. I use it day and night, and have been for a couple months now. No reactions so far! Even when my skin has been in a flare up of sensitivity, it’s soothing and doesn’t burn or irritate things more. I truly believe it’s been helping to improve my skin barrier and calm things down. If I miss a day or two, I can definitely see things getting worse again. It’s incredibly easy to use and leaves a nice glow on your skin afterwards. Great for days you’re not wearing makeup! But also works well under makeup as well. You also just can’t beat the price point. It’s so fairly priced, and you get a lot of product. I’ve picked up several The Ordinary products over the past six months since discovering them, and you honestly cannot go wrong with this brand. Their ingredients are transparent and simple, and I haven’t reacted to anything I’ve tried. I’ve started recommending them to all my family and friends, and had a couple people already make the switch. It works better than products 4 times the price. Truly an amazing company and an amazing product.

I love this serum when my face is in need of a little bit of barrier support TLC! It helps calm my skin from irritation, inflammation and redness. It feels really good on the skin and because it is pink it adds a pretty little glow. It is not sticky or greasy and has not caused me any irritation or breakouts...FYI - I do have semi sensitive skin. I know there's a lot of barrier support serums on the market, but this is definitely a great serum if you're on a budget. I definitely will be repurchasing again.

Amazon is asking me to comment about skin irritation. What I experienced was a rosacea flare brought on by being left too long on a heating pad at my physical therapist's office. I wasn't paying attention to how long I was on the heat, although it felt like much longer than usual. And they failed (or their timer did) to realize that I was over-cooking. By the end of that evening my cheeks were almost literally tomato red. I researched what to do - cool compresses, discontinue use of other skin care like Vitamin C and other serums which can be irritating. My research indicated that "The Ordinary Soothing & Barrier Support Serum" contained recommended ingredients to calm down the reaction I'd had. And it did! Even without using the Rx I can use for the rosacea, The Ordinary Serum did the job quite well. It did help reduce redness and felt soothing and hydrating.

Gives great hydration don’t love the smell but I can get past it. Sometimes leaves ur skin a little pink if u use too much. U don’t need a lot. My skin is sensitive and it didn’t irritate it. It isn’t too thick but it’s watery. U can layer this nicely. Good when u use on damp skin.

Incredible value when on sale. The quality is just unmatched, it's well worth it even when it's not on sale. I’ve tried a lot of barrier repair products, and honestly, this one blew me out the water. The Ordinary’s barrier serum works better for me than both La Roche-Posay Cicaplast and the Cetaphil Ceramide Serum. If your skin barrier is compromised this is what you need. After microneedling or repairing your skin from overzealous tretinoin, it won't sting or cause further irritation, and you really do heal much faster. I've switched out my 7 step K beauty routine for just this. It's lightweight, doesn't pill, it really just makes your skin feel like healthy and hydrated skin. No stickiness, just moisture. Perfect under makeup.
