We already have a couple of Ring products but didn't have a camera outside , but previously the cost of one was out of my range UNTIL this one came down to just under £35. This outdoor stick up holder is simplistic to screw on , and the rechargeable battery easy to remove and charge fully. As expected you get great picture and audio quality , and yes it has nightvision. The camera is wide-screen so your whole garden is covered , but you can angle the unit to suit what's best for you. I am re-reviewing this item because our 1st one kept randomly going offline but not our other cams , so bought a new stickup outdoor and touch wood we've had no problems whatsoever with going offline. I would suggest also buying a simple plug in WiFi booster extension with an outdoor camera as that's too has also helped and we have green lights on the device health which means it's working as it should be. Now we've a properly working camera we are very happy with this item so going to add stars to the rating.

Worth its weight in gold! Very easy to set up as I had a ring plan for the front door anyway, stuck this up at our back gate and very happy with results. Quality is what you pay for, sound is good when on live view and such. Currently sat at the end of a 100ft garden overlooking a back gate (with WiFi extended already in place) no problems with connectivity, it does seem to be at max range though. We caught a deer on camera :) very happy

Update: Heavy Use at Front of House Running this in battery mode at the front of my house, I get about 2–3 weeks per charge with plenty of activity. Rabbits in the garden constantly triggering motion alerts don’t help! Even so, it’s been reliable — no connection drops or false alarms. For peace of mind it’s been excellent. Hope this helps if you’re weighing up the battery side of things. Fit and forget — installed Nov 2023 and still dependable. I bought the Ring Outdoor Battery Stick Up Cam in November 2023, and it’s been mounted on my garage ever since. It’s now over a year in use, and overall I’m impressed with how reliable it’s been. Setup & Wi-Fi Range Setup was straightforward using the Ring app. My Wi-Fi signal isn’t the strongest in the garage, but even at around 10m from the router inside the house the camera still connects reliably. Streaming can take a second or two to load, but once connected it’s stable. Performance The camera captures a clear image, day and night, and the motion detection is sensitive enough to pick up even small movements — including rabbits passing through the garden and the occasional spider crawling across the lens. That sensitivity means you get plenty of alerts, which can be a positive or a nuisance depending on your settings. Battery Life On average, I get about 4 weeks on a full charge. This shortens if there’s a lot of activity — more traffic, wildlife, or busy days when the motion sensor is triggered often. Charging is easy with the removable battery, but I’d recommend buying a spare so you can always swap and keep the camera running. Durability After a year outdoors, it’s held up well against the weather. No issues with water ingress, and the casing still looks solid. I bought this camera as I already have a Ring doorbell. The camera works very well, video quality is good and motion detection works well with the right settings however when setup to work how I want it too the battery life goes from 98% (fully charged) to 20% in about 2 weeks! If I setup the camera with recommended settings for good battery life the camera fails to detect most motion. I have now ordered a Ring solar panel so will monitor how well battery life improves. Update: The solar panel wasn't suitable for a minimalist installation so i am back to just using the battery. Battery life is still poor even with all the settings as recommended by Ring, I wonder if the battery is faulty. Update: I have been forced to abandon using this device on battery, with the settings I want the battery only lasts 2 weeks at the most before needing a recharge. I have now paid even more money to get a power source and long cable so that I can use mains power. This does work however there is a long standing issue with the camera not detecting there is a power source other than battery so the app gives an error message. This doesn't seem to affect the camera and all the additional settings are now enabled. From looking online this power issue was reported and acknowledged by Ring in April 2023 but there is still no fix!

Although not designed by the Amazon team this camera shares the same intensity of design. It works well and has a mounting bracket that can be fitted in one of two locations allowing mounting to horizontal or vertical surfaces. There is a connector to accept power from a wired DC power supply. The battery packs have an internal charge controller. They can be charged from any micro usb plug. Concept works well in practice. Effective within the constraints of finite battery capacity. Update: the exchangeable battery pack is a great boon. the camera is very significantly more than in battery mode. As a backup, the battery are two isolated sets of firmware and possibly even two different processors for the two modes. The battery back feature is still useful but not as flexible as one might niavely expect. Above review for Outdoor Camera Battery. Following review for Outdoor Camera Plugin This actually has the same camera unit as the above Battery model, the difference being this is supplied with a flexible mains adaptor and lead rather than a rather good portable battery pack and USB charging cable. The user can switch power mode within the Ring App. An undocumented feature is that you can add a portable battery pack to the plugin model to allow it to operate for around 20 hours in the event of mains failure (whilst in 'plugin' mode). The battery will be charged when the mains feed is available. Also the option to take snapshots every minute is the default because there is not the concern about wasting valuable battery power. So far so good. However there is a major installation problem that will defeat many users. The connector to provide DC power to the Camera unit is an angled barrel plug so that it does not get in the way of adjusting the viewing angle of the camera, fair enough, but if you need to route the cable through a wall to reach a mains socket you need to drill a hole of about 23 mm in diameter. In wood this is within the scope of a DIY enthusiast but in concrete or brick this is a major problem requiring a very large and often long masonry bit (£15?) and possibly the hire of a low speed, high torque, large chuck hammer drill. A lot of folks will need to hire a handyman. This represents a major goof and a rethink of the DC supply cable is required so that it will pass through say a 4mm hole. Anyone hitting this installation brick wall (literally) can get round the problem by buying a Ring portable battery pack and recharging it about once a month. I respect the millions of dollars that go into the development of Amazon/Ring products, it shows, I wish I was part of the design team, but this time, sorry, you overlooked a significant practical issue on the plugin model. A technically excellent product that many will struggle to use as designed. Update on the plug-in plus battery standby mode: in wired mode the power consumption of the camera is many times that if battery mode. In the evebt of a power failure the backup battery pack only lasts 24 hours. The obvious solutionvis to change over to battery mode until such time power is restored. However you need to be next to the camera and go through a full network configuration process again to change mode. It seems there are two sets of firmware and possibly even two processors. Nevertheless the battery backup mode is useful for anyone that experiences frequent power outages where the camera is mounted. You can also run the camera in battery mode and use the plugin power system to change the battery when mains is available. You loose some performance but gain long term integrity. to provide continuous use in the event of a power failure and will charge it in-situ. Ordered the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery | HD security camera to extend the coverage of the front of my home, having already bought and been using the Ring front door camera for about 4 months and being extremely happy with that too. These are great devices - I love the fact that these are battery operated, as it means I don't have to worry about running electrical cables externally, so installation is extremely simple provided you have a decent Wi-Fi signal. And, the rechargeable battery lasts months. Installing these are relatively simple - you download the Ring App and follow the instructions which include scanning a QR Code which is located in the battery compartment. It took about 5 minutes to connect then the device needed an update which took a further 10 - 15 minutes but as soon as that's complete, you can switch to live view and then adjust the camera to show the area you want monitored. The picture is extremely sharp, especially during daylight, but at night, although sharp, it's difficult to see faces clearly. I love the fact that these cameras record as soon as they detect movement, and for the first 30 days you can access the videos via the App, but after that, for £2.50 a month or £24.99 (per-device) you can continue to see all the video recordings (these are available for 30 days). Ring also have another plan costing £8 a month or £80 a year which covers ALL Ring devices, so useful if you have 4 or more and want to be able to access video recordings. I would mention however, that you don't need a subscription but if you don't take one, you won't be able to access the video recordings which is, in my opinion one of the main reasons for having them in the first place. I've also integrated these into my Amazon Alexa system by activating the Ring skill and now get a notification on my Amazon Echo devices when they detect movement - brilliant! This is a great device, easy to install, works indoors and outdoors - and no wiring required!

Great camera easy to use value for money

Great value for money and the quality is fantastic. Bought this in order to know when the cat was at the back door to let him back in and it works a treat. With the great added bonus of back garden security and seeing the hedgehogs at night.

Wer eine unkomplizierte Sicherheitskamera ohne lästiges Kabolverlegen sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Die Installation war in weniger als 15 Minuten erledigt. Was mir besonders gut gefällt: Bild- und Videoqualität: Das 1080p-HD-Bild ist gestochen scharf – sowohl tagsüber als auch bei Nacht dank der soliden Infrarot-Nachtsicht. Personen und Gesichter sind problemlos zu erkennen. Zuverlässige Bewegungserkennung: Die Bewegungstoleranz und die Privatsphärenzonen lassen sich in der App sehr präzise einstellen. So wird man nicht bei jedem vorbeifliegenden Vogel oder wackelnden Ast alarmiert, sondern wirklich nur, wenn sich jemand auf dem Grundstück bewegt. Das Akku-System: Der Akku hält je nach Aktivität und Einstellungen (z. B. Häufigkeit der Aufnahmen) erstaunlich lange (bei mir mehrere Monate). Was man beachten sollte: Wie bei fast allen Ring-Kameras gilt: Wer Videos in der Cloud speichern, im Nachhinein ansehen oder die erweiterten KI-Funktionen (wie Personen-Benachrichtigung) nutzen möchte, benötigt das kostenpflichtige "Ring Protect"-Abonnement. Für mich sind die paar Euro im Monat für die zusätzliche Sicherheit aber absolut in Ordnung. Fazit: Die Ring Stick Up Cam bietet ein hervorragendes Gesamtpaket aus einfacher Montage, stabiler App-Anbindung und exzellenter Bildqualität. Wer sein Zuhause schnell und kabellos absichern möchte, macht hier absolut nichts falsch!

Installée en extérieur avec une seule batterie et un panneau solaire non officiel (moins cher), cette caméra fonctionne parfaitement. L’autonomie est excellente, la batterie reste chargée en permanence, même en hiver. • Qualité vidéo très correcte de jour comme de nuit. • Application Ring fluide et réactive, notifications bien paramétrables. • Installation rapide, comme toujours chez Ring. • Cloud sécurisé : enregistrement à distance, impossible de perdre les vidéos même en cas de vol. • Très bon rapport qualité/prix, surtout en combinant avec un panneau solaire économique. ⸻ 🧠 Conclusion : ✔️ Une caméra idéale en extérieur, fiable avec une seule batterie, pas besoin du panneau officiel Ring pour que ça tienne. Je recommande sans hésiter, même à des pros, pour des usages simples, sécurisés et sans câbles.
