Wilton Aluminum 3D Sports Ball Cake Pan Set, Made Without PFAS

First time making a ball cake, and it worked well for a sports themed birthday.@brookiemaycakes

This was my very first cake using decorator tips to create a design. The instructions that come with this pan explain everything you need to do step by step to make the cake as pictured on the pan, and mine came pretty close! Order the pan ahead of time so you can read the instructions and get any related items you might need (wilton decorator tips or another brand in the same style) i didnt have the exact tips it called for, for example i substituted a 22 for a 21, but i dont think you can tell. I made this using 2 boxes of funfetti cake mix, measured out per the instructions (there was leftover mix that i made into cupcakes) then i used the buttercream icing recipe from the wilton website (as suggested by the instructions). This wasnt a fast process, after baking and cooling the cake (about an hour of prep, baking,cleaning and 2 hours to thoroughly cool) I started mixing the frosting, making colors, and decorating following the awesome setp by step instructions for color order. All told, the icing step took me 4.5 hours. Im guessing it would be much less if you have more experience. I would absolutely buy another wilton pan again because it was worth it to have such a beautiful looking delicious cake. Highly recommend.

Instructions are super clear, and it was easy even for someone like me using tips for the first time and having no prior experience and maybe shaky baking ability! I did different colors than the instructions called for because my 5 year old wanted a purple dinosaur, my green. Skipped the belly on accident, so I just went with it, but that was my mistake. The instructions told me to do it and I got in a groove making stars and ignored it. Oops!While it may seem pricey, overall it’s still cheaper than buying from a bakery and you can use any cake from scratch or mix you choose (I used Betty Crocker triple chocolate fudge). I was nervous I would need more than one mix, but, one mix is perfect for the capacity of the pan.I did have some trouble releasing it from the pan, but nothing that an icing bandage couldn’t fix. Still, I think if I make it again, I will use flour instead of an oil spray to see if that helps. The instruction page is super helpful, so definitely keep it! Also, the sticker for pricing was extra difficult to get off (Dawn, oil, and scratching still didn’t remove it and I had to rewash again, anyway!). Minor issues all things considered, and I’d still recommend this pan AND the Wilton instructions because of how beginner friendly they are.

The pan needs to be well greased and floured but once you figure that out, it works well! It doesn’t seem like it would be very scratch resistant but I did not use metal utensils with it so I did not have a problem with that. The cake baked really well. It is a very lightweight pan. It was smaller than I expected but it made for a cute cake! The directions for decorating that it came with were awesome!

Love this one it was fun seeing it come together.

Great pan, use bakers joy on the inside to make sure it doesn’t stick! My 5 year old loved her unicorn cake!

This pan works very well. I am practicing making a unicorn cake for our granddaughter’s birthday. I need lots of practice. :)The cake came out of the pan very nicely except for one spot that I don’t think I got enough shortening and flour on. The outline of the design came through so a non- artist can easily make the horse look like a horse. (Remember - I need practice, don’t judge by my limited artistic abilities.). Decorating instructions are included but the print is so hard to read that I went to the website to follow them.

Si haces pasteles es esencial que tengas uno, el material es sencillo, pero si se tiene el cuidado suficiente no se maltrata, muy buen producto.

J’ai utiliser ce moule pour faire le gomu gomu de one pièce et c’était top il ne colle pas j’ai mis un peu de beurre et de farine au fond et ça s’est bien démoulé merci

The quality of the pan is good. Me and my 5yr old son had a great experience baking this dino cake for his birthday. We tried to copy Chomper of Land Before Time and since it's our first time, we just used store bought icing and the colors, we just mixed it ourselves. The cake can be improved but the memories we made will last. It definitely made his birthday extra special.
