If you have read The Dalai Lama's Cat this will be a great disappointment.
Nothing new in it. Just adapting to a dog's view the life of the Queen and her family. Very disappointing from David Michie. Seems like it was written just to cash on on his earlier books.

A very good read
I enjoyed this book, about and narrated by a corgi. He was flawed, because of a floppy ear, and was unwanted. His life was changed forever after he became the Queen's corgi. The characters, including three corgis , were interesting because they were real . I liked the way that humour was blended with philosophy.

Enjoyable read.
Following on from his other books, I found this insightful into the hidden meanings behind the Queens Corgi antics & observations. Perhaps I was expecting too much after having read all the Dalai Lama's Cat series which I devoured. None the less it was enjoyable & worthy of recommendation.

Great story
Great story especially as we have a new Welsh Corgi puppy in the family.Liked the underlying thoughts on purpose, why are we here? and how we make the most of our lives, in a caring and loving way very interesting and sensitively told.

Special Dog
Having read all of David Michie's books I had to read this one. I liked it but was not as engrossed as I was about the Dalai Lama's Cat or the Magician of Llasa. Still, a lovely tale with humanity told through the dogs.

Beautiful
Beautifully written with gentle insights (better out than in) about how Buddhist principles can make our every day life more meaningful regardless of how hectic you are or what Faith you are.

You'll love him.
This book is a must if you want cheered up, the Corgi will come into your heart and the writing is exquisite. Feel good factor and thought provoking. Good advice for life in general. Must admit though the Dalai Lama's Cat is better - written by the same author, but buy both though.

If you like dogs you will chuckle over Nelson's mishaps
Another delightful and insightful book from David Michie. It is written in his inimitable, self-deprecating style and from the perspective of a true to life corgi puppy just learning about his strengths and unstrengths. If you like dogs you will chuckle over Nelson's mishaps. If you seek self awareness, this is a great place to start.
