This book is an amazing book and will give you perspective in life. Max Lucado has really gone out of his way to make all of us who choose to read this book really look into what is important. This book is extremely uplifting and gives hope. I have reached a point in my life where I depend on uplifting reading due to what I would describe as a really messed up sense of tragedy in my family.This book along with the Bible are helping me through what many would believe to be the impossible. When one experiences so much loss and so much pain in life, Only God can lead the way. I was drawn to this book simply due to the fact that it could bring hope and it has.The Burdens discussed in this book are the following:-the burden of a lesser God-the burden of self-reliance-the burden of discontent-the burden of weariness-the burden of worry-----Big chapter.....-the burden of hopelessness-the burden of guilt-the burden of arrogance-the burden of the grave-the burden of grief- the reason I​ read the book-the burden of fear- another reason to read the book-the burden of loneliness-the burden of shame-the burden of disappointment-the burden of envy-the burden of doubt-the burden of homesicknessMax Lucado manages to bring hope to every burden and aspect of our lives. I found this book to be so helpful when I was going thru a major struggle. Each chapter is short & packed full of encouragement. I keep copies of this book on hand & give it to people as they face a crisis! This was a great price so I ordered but I’m going to keep it in my guest room. Now I need to order a couple more copies.

I am using it at a book club at my church, and it is in great condition and very readable.

I don’t like this book but it was selected for my book club. I don’t like it because it is a Protestant book, not Catholic.

If you have never read one of Max Lucado's books, start here! This book gives an amazing, deep view on Psalm 23. You will not read that passage the same after sitting down with this book.

We all have baggage of some kind. Max keeps it simple and makes you think a lot. My group is doing it as a Bible study with the questions at the back and we have had great discussions based on the content each week. I would recommend this book.

I am currently reading this book and like all of Max's books its filled with humour accompanied by the truths of Psalm 23. As always I want to read the book from cover to cover as its both entertaining and enlightening, I'm learning new truths about the ways in which God cares for his people. Max explains the Psalm and makes me think - why didn't I see that? Can't recommend highly enough!!
