M07001 5.5 Inches Water Meter Box Key

A little wobbly to put into the slot, but once you get the hang of it, it works well. It presses against a spring mechanism that needs to be moved back in order to remove the lid. These lids were put on because the new water meter has a transmitter on it and the old lid would have block the transmission.

Although it was too large to fit in the meter cover hole, I came to realize I didn’t need one after all.there was no locking mechanism on the cover. So all i need is a screw driver to stick in the hole and pick up on it. 😂😂😂

Good sturdy Key fit box

you can make it work. The new, black plastic covers have the wrong cut-out for this key. However, if you move it back and forth, a bit, it will wear away a little plastic, and go in. Then, you need to turn it counter clockwise to move the inside black plastic strip up, thereby causing the lock nub to disengage the rim of the box, and allowing you to easily remove the cover. To make it easier, you might want to first power the cover off with a screwdriver and mini pry bar, so you can understand how the lock works, once you see it. Just be sure to push the nub in with the pry bar. That nub is located a little to the left of the keyhole, at the rim.

Either you know what this is or you don't. This is a really nice metal (gold/brass colored) handle with key end for opening the sort of bent shaped openings on water covers or many man-hole covers. Very solid and provides a good grip. Other than that the just isn't a lot to be said about this. Anyone who gives this other than a one or five stars is being nit-picky. Only way I can see giving this a one-star would be if someone didn't know what they were buying when they bought this.
