I had almost given up with finding an affordable, easy to use crimping tool, for Dupont plug and socket crimp connectors that provided a crimp as good as the mass produced breadboard jumper wires. If you can get good mass produced jumper wires why bother with a crimping tool, It all about length with longer wires you get problems with the way an electrical circuit will operate. So I like to use commercial jumper wires and tailor them to the length I need for each part of the breadboard circuit. A********* The ratchet allows the tool to hold the crimp pin or socket securely while inserting the wire. Once the tool is fully closed and springs open the crimp pin is easily released unlike other brands and the wire and sheath crimps are showing the same closure as the machine produced crimps, with a similar insulation resistance end to end as machine made crips. The crimp tool is a good fit for my hands and the crimping pressure required to complete the crimp is comfortable for making 20 or 30 crimps at a time. Really glad I bought this tool, Amazons delivery time was also fast.

An excellent crimp tool. Bought this to crimp the smaller JST Molex pins/connectors. These crimps have a narrower nose which is perfect for the small connectors. Crimps with a wider jaw will flatten the small tag that holds the connector in the housing. These work perfectly and produce a neat and tight crimp. Recommended..

I'm new to using JST connectors so it took a bit of fiddling to figure out exactly where to sit the connector for crimping, but once this was done the crimpers seemed to do a reliable job. They seem to be precisely and robustly built for the price.

Very good at crimping connectors, I purchased a different crimper at first but I returned that as it was completely useless, but these iwiss crimps are excellent, perfectly crimped connectors straight out of the box. Highly recommended.

These are great quality for the price from a respected brand and the removable jaws are great if like me you get a crimp connector jammed!

At long last after three tries I have found a pair of crimpers that actually fit the small XH-2.5 JST connectors.

JST connectors are always fiddly, and when the crimper doesn;t operate the way it should, the frustration builds. I switched from (trying to) using a Engineer PA-09 to these a few months back for JST connectors on 3d printer stepper and printhead cables, and this has allowed me to actually crimp without cursing the tools. XH and PH work great on the smallest end of the die and are pretty easy to line up (grabbing the terminal end with pliers, inserting it and setting the first ratchet click to hold it, then inserting the wire at the appropriate depth from the other side). I haven't made use of the other dies for larger terminals, but if anyone is asking themselves "do these actually work for JST, not just Dupont?, the answer is yes. they work flawlessly. No sticking of the terminal in the die, crimping both insulation and bare wire in one step, solid crimp on both larger and smaller gauge stranded wire, these really are decent.

Very good tool !!! I use it only for crimping JST XH. Only amateurs use Dupont, so I cannot judge if it is suited for the Dupont-style crap.
